Hi
I'm planning on buying my first Nintendo. I'm 19 and I never had or even known anyone with Nintendo and I don't know where to start. I manly want to buy so I can play in Pokemon and animal crossing. Which Nintendo should I choose for this purpose?
I know that to most people my problem is quite funny but I hope that I can count on someone's help.
Thank you!

@Carminlena 3DS (or 2DS - the cheaper, non-3D alternative) Animal Crossing: New Leaf on 3DS is the best Animal Crossing game to date - and there are a whole bunch of Pokémon games to choose from on 3DS too - should be perfect for you!

I would wait E3 if they announce AC & Pokemon for Switch

At the moment Pokémon and Animal Crossing are only available on the 3DS.

There are a few options regarding which 3DS model to buy. If you want to play in 3D then the New 3DS XL is the best choice, but if you aren't bothered about 3D the New 2DS XL would suit you better. There is also the cheapest option which a 2DS.

New 2ds XL or the regular 2ds.

Ac and pokemon are perfectly playable on the old hardware but the new 2ds has a bigger screen and has some games not found on the old hardware. I highly recommend xenoblade if you get a new 2ds or new 3ds.

@Carminlena
Got money - buy Switch and 3ds
Got less money - buy 3ds (not the "new" one )
Got few money - buy used 3ds or DS (still fun games for the system)
