@Intrepid
Sounds similar to what I did when I was an assistant in my high school library..

When I was 15 or so, I did some work during school holidays at my next-door neighbour's office - stuff like sorting mail, organising documents etc. I quite enjoyed it, and it was good to get the feeling of earning some cash.

Then at 17 I got a job at a newsagency, which was great. I would work Thursday nights and Sundays while the uni semester was on, which (with time-and-a-half on Sundays) got me enough cash to not have to worry too much about money (I was living at home still, and was fortunate enough to only have to pay a little bit of board to my parents). When the Christmas break happened, I'd work 3 months full-time at casual pay rates - I'd easily earn seven or eight thousand dollars in that period, which would pay for basically anything I wanted (within reason).

I did that job for 3 years, and after that had to stop due to postgrad studies.

I think that, for a lot of people, getting a job as a teenager is really an excellent, formative experience. I found myself feeling much more confident in interacting with people (as I had to stand behind the counter and chat to anybody that came up, so you learn to strike up conversations easily), it gave me a good work ethic, I made a lot of friends, and it was nice to be able to pay my own way for things - I didn't have to sponge off my parents to buy things I wanted.

I used to have a blog link here. I'll put it back up when the blog has something to read.

I don't have one yet. But I'm planning on finding a job at a garden nursery in Spring. I have a love for things that grow.

My first job was at a printing factory. And i could take home any book that i wantet. I got all FullMetal Alchemist manga book, about 22 Naruto, shaman king, chobits, love hina, ragnarok, rebirth, yeah pretty much every manga series that got printed in swedish.

I was forced to quit due to the bad economy. A little while after the company they had printed the mangas for dad filed for bankruptcy. Cant be fun to work there anymore heh

Working at Mobile Fleet Home And Auto Cleaning was my first "job" when I was 14. I helped the owner out doing jobs during my summer vacations. It included steam cleaning people's carpets , detailing cars/ RVs, ( cleaning them inside and out) power washing houses, pools and other various things.

Quiznos. Hated it. My bosses were the most perfectionistic bosses I'd ever worked with to this day, and it was a really small store, meaning there was only room for one employee and the boss.

I was under scrutiny all the time, and it made me nervous and mess things up that I normally wouldn't. The resulting constant chastising greatly damaged my self esteem. Basically it was very mentally unhealthy to work there.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

Oh yes, it's better than Subway IMO. BUT...it has prices to match. Being an employee meant 50% off the food but...it still wan't worth working there.
