Hello everyone!

We are all gamers, but we are also human beings and with that, we have the requirement for nourishment. You know what I'm talking about. FOOD!

"Foodie n.Slang: A person who has an ardent or refined interest in food; a gourmet. A foodie seeks new food experiences as a hobby rather than simply eating out for convenience or hunger. While "gourmet" and "epicure" can be used as synonyms they have fallen out of favor and bring to mind a stodgy or snobbish attitude."

I'm a foodie. I can't help it. Every time I go out to a restaurant and order food, I become a critic. I'm not snobbish or cruel, but I'm passionate about food and with that, I analyze the tastes, the flavors, the textures, the aroma, the everything of food! Food is fun, and that's why I've made this thread.

In this thread, we discuss dishes, share recipes, tastes, and ideas!
What did you eat today that made you go "MMmm!"
What's the best thing you ever prepared?
What is your favorite restaurant? What's your usual dish?

And heck, why not?

What's the worst thing you've ever eaten?
What's the worst thing you've ever cooked? What went wrong?
What's the worst restaurant you've ever experienced!?

Well, let's dig in!

There is a Shonen Jump manga named Toriko and that manga reminds me of the first comment in this thread. This thread would make Toriko proud. Lol I'm serious! Read the manga and this thread is literally everything Toriko stands for. Now for some answers... My favorite food is cheeseburgers with lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup and a touch of seasoning. I also love pepperoni pizza that has alot of sauce and cheese. I also love chicken wings with hot sauce as a dip! I also love buttermilk pancakes and biscuits! MMMMM... my tummy is growling!!! XD

I own a Wii U and 3DS. I also own a PS4!

I'll start with the dish that inspired me to make this thread on NintendoLife.

Homemade Mango Rice Curry with Barbeque Chicken. Served with Pita Bread. All Vegetarian.

Oh I didn't mention this. I'm vegetarian. Most of the recipes I'll post about on this thread will most likely be vegetarian however I consider myself a "Meat Eating Vegetarian" because I really enjoy meat substitutes therefore, if any of the dishes I post involve a meat substitute, feel free to use the actual meat instead if that's your preference.

Anyways, my wife came up with the idea for this dish and it was DELICIOUS. The rice was boiled in water with Orange Juice and small chunks of Mango. Spices were thrown in to really embolden the flavor.

The meatless chicken strips, which are Beyond Meat brand (I HIGHLY RECOMMEND, we can only find the brand at Whole Foods Market.) were simmered under a thick smoky barbeque sauce with green onions. All of these elements were cooked, then plated. The barbeque chicken strips were served on a bed of the Mango rice with 2 slices of warm Pita bread.

It was wonderful. The rice was surprisingly NOT very sweet, it only had a light note of sweetness on the aftertaste which was perfect. The spices really took the front with the rice, it was great. The chicken was the star of the show though, with it's strong, sweet barbeque flavor, it really married well with the rice. Packed into a slice of warm Pita bread, the food was fun and functional and well, to say the least, I'm very full right now. It was great.

I was under the impression a foodie was another word for insightful chefs, therefore I thought this was a place to talk about and exchange food tips. I am disappointed. I guess I'll go take my kitty doughnut recipe somewhere else. Flies away with kitty doughnut

Oh haha, I browse the internet with no images so that I can browse faster and save on bandwidth usage, so sadly, I see nothing. No worries though.

Best thing I've ever prepared? Probably a Chicken Pot Pie, from scratch. Not the best thing I've ever eaten, but something about making comfort food with my own two hands just makes it all the more delicious.

I positively adore the Bangers and Mash that the BBC serves though, and I had some very high quality vichyssoise somewhere that was very tasty as well.

I'm pretty careful with what I eat though, so I can't really complain about something I've eaten recently.

And I ate at some lousy breakfast place where the food was sub-par, and the service was garbage, so that'd proll be my worst experience.

Fun fact: My wife made a vegetarian chicken pot pie once, I crafted a Triforce from the dough and we baked the design into the top of the pie. Courage, Wisdom and Power never tasted better.
