I know I've been posting a lot of topics lately, but I have a question regarding a school application essay. Is it OK to put this sentence in for a talent:

I'm currently learning a programming language in which I'm seeking a career in game development".

Who are you?

Mk_II

No. You are not seeking a career in a programming language (that is what the "in which" is referring to).

Oh, so I should say from which?

Who are you?

Well, you're seeking a career in game development, so that's what the "which" should refer to. You just have to move the sentence around so that "game development" comes before "which."

"I'm currently learning a programming language for game development, in which I'm seeking a career."
"I'm seeking a career in game development, for which I'm currently learning a programming language."

Either of these would work. My rule of thumb in formal writing is to avoid wordiness and multiple independent clauses in one sentence though.

"I'm currently learning a programming language to seek a career in game development."

I would probably go with this.
