Share your stories about when games have made you jump, scream, cry, or otherwise wet yourself. Whether it's a scary game or not, I scare really easily. Once in a blue moon, I'll play a horror game (and regret it when I go to bed). Here's my worst endeavor:
Whilst playing Fatal Frame II, I got really, really, REALLY paranoid about stuff happening. I was at the point where pretty much anything would freak me out. It was at this time that I decided that it would be a good idea to stop. However, I had to get to a save point first. I began to backtrack down a hallway, making my way to the nearest red "X" on my map, when all of a sudden... BAM! A ghost appears right in front of me, in an area I was almost sure was completely safe! He just stood there, then walked away nonchalantly into a wall as I began to wimper pathetically. I eventually made it to the save point, and never picked up the game again for several weeks...
Resident Evil 4 had some creepy moments. It was always unnerving hearing the Monk Ganados chanting right behind you just before they attacked. And don't get me started on those Regenerators.
Games don't scare me, movies don't either, even those really mentally messed up Japanese horror movies that don't let you know stuff is coming as how American movies ruin the scare value upping the creepy music (or stopping it before someone gets whacked.) Resident Evil often gets the major credit but there's no scare value in them at all, just creepy things, and the rare occasional pop up moment where some dog comes at you or whatever that'll maybe make you stiffen up for a second. The closest game I can think of is Dead Space (PS3.) That game has an entire unnerving environment that makes you fear going around a corner as parts go alien and pulsate, or you hear the scraping or scratching of air ducting or something and it's usually never a cheap moment, it's just atmospheric mind screwing at its finest. It made me nervous going in a room, that never happens, but I never jumped either.

one time I played spiderman 2 on the gamecube I beat about 10 chapters without saving and then I got up and tripped on the power cord and yanked it out. I started freakin out because of all that lost progress. Also, when I bought an sd card for my wii I moved my data there not knowing it won't load. I thought my data was gone. All those hundreds of hours of work gone! Eventually nintendo was called and they helped get it back. (scary times though) P.S. Scary does not have to mean a creepy picture on screen!
sup, I will give you advice if you ask. FC: Wii Console:3985-2203-0804-1295 SSBB:0173-0975-3949 MKW:3738-0981-3164 Toribash:3481-69299534 HG-1162-1907-7904 Goldeneye:514439432409
The first time I played Portal, it got my heart pounding near the end. Every time I rounded a corner I thought GlaDOS was going to pop out and eat me. D:
...But nothing like that ever happened, so it was kind of anticlimactic.
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
When I was sailing along in Wind Waker and all of a sudden I got sucked into this whirlpool and a GIANT SQUID popped out of it and started sucking me up. And of course, the Bottom of the Well in Ocarina of Time. Sometimes a Zelda game can really make me freak out.
Oh right, and several of the bosses from Wario World. Blech!

I do give credit to the original Resident Evil's "Dog jumps through window" tactic. It was kind of foreshadowed, though. Although Resident Evil 2 pretty much pulled the same thing, except with a Licker, and trust me, you're never ready for that crap.

On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. 'Tis a very silly place.
Playing Ocarina of Time at 1 AM in the shadow temple. Just walking around, half asleep, when one of the hands comes flying down from the ceiling and drags me down into the abyss.
When I nearly got hit by a leftover boomerang after killing the hammer bros in the grandmaster perfect run in Galaxy 2.
