Its not funny but when I was little and got my Charmander I named it "Charry." That's the only Pokemon I've nicknamed besides my Shiny Charizard (Which I worked VERY hard for!!) which I named "Glare." He took so much blood, sweat, and tears to obtain that he just deserved a nickname!
I actually nickname every pokemon I catch. ALL OF THEM.
And it's usually some random name based on their species. Unless I'm going for a theme, like video game characters, myths, flowers or strange things like the nicknames from trainers in pokemon stadium.
I don't always nickname my pokemon, but when I do it's usually goofy. My Garados is named Cutie Pie, while my Wigglytuff is called Stud Muffin!
You are the most interesting trainer in the world. Stay... uhh... hmm... umm... something. Yes, stay something, my friend.
Sorry, your comment reminded me of a commercial for... uhh... something (I can't remember what). Anyway, that more or less the same with mine. I usually only name mine if they make me think of something funny or I come up with a name that I think fits the species better than its official name. For instance, I named a Bouffalant Buffafro.
I named my in-game team in HeartGold after places in Kauai (Kalalau, Limahuli, Nawiliwili, Hanakoa, Waimea, Alakai). I named a few others that I did special projects with, like my Sneasel named Clawrunner that I'm running with in my pokéwalker, but that's about it. Once I named a Gengar Smoglicker, really liked that name.
