Clever/Funny pokemon nicknames!
I'll start it off...

Slakoth - bread

I tend to give my Pokémon party theme names as I feel it promotes team synergy. I like to kind of decide what my Trainer is into before I start the game and then base the names on that. Like when I played Platinum, I decided my character was into video games, so she named all her Pokémon after Final Fantasy summons.

I have a lot of weird OCD tendencies when playing Pokémon so...

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.

Well I named my Level 4 Pidgy Birdy, and then my Level 3 Mousey, as well as my Level 10 Magikarp, his name is Fishy! That's about it... what? Wondering where my starter pokemon is? Well, I threw him out, can't just name him Squirtley or Charamandery, that would sound SOOOOOO LAME!

In some games I did nicknames, and other times, no nicknames at all. I rarely nickname legendaries... but otherwise, I usually pick a pattern for the whole game. Like maybe using the first gender appropriate real (human) name I think of that begins with the same first letter (Maria the Magikarp, for example). Once I did just nickname them the first word that popped into my mind... it led to very random nicknames, none of which I would remember. Rarely something clever, though.

I remember for Pokemon Silver I used Digimon names.

It was as dumb as it sounds.

Non-binary, demiguy, making LPs, still alive

The only game I used nicknames in was Platinum. I named all the pokemon I caught after creatures from Pikmin.

Currently Playing: Splatoon, Need for Speed Rivals

I don't always nickname my pokemon, but when I do it's usually goofy. My Garados is named Cutie Pie, while my Wigglytuff is called Stud Muffin!

I had patterns in some of my games, others, none at all. The first time I nicknamed all my Pokemon was in Emerald. I named them after the first thing I saw when I looked up. It just so happens that when I was naming Torchic, I looked up and saw a picture of Elvis, and it seemed like a good idea (not so much when I looked up and saw a table, but I did it anyway). I named them after Fire Emblem characters in Platinum, and in SoulSilver I named them after my favorite classic rock artists; both band names and names of people in the bands. Right now in my second play through in White, I haven't nicknamed any yet.

I named my Arceus "Yoyoma".

I once had a Horsea which my friend named "Amy". Another friend made fun of it later because it was his dog's name >.>

Oh, I forgot! I named Panpour Seamonkey; Pansage Treemonkey; and Pansear was Heatmonkey. Pretty stupid, I know, but I felt like naming the stupid things!
