Obviously it's going to be the Super Wii.

I meant for this forum to be a speculation type thing. The majority of people on here have only posted "Give me the source for that name you prefer to use instead of typing out 'Next Nintendo Console', or I will comment with this open threat!". I just say Nintendo Black because I don't like Wii 2, cuz that makes no sense.

@HolyMackerel You might be right, they've done it before and everyone loved it.

The next Nintendo won't be called Wii 2 and I wish people would stop calling it that as well. Nintendo has never numbered it's systems like that.

@Z.Bone Seriously, I don't get it either. However, I'm a bit of a hypoctite if I don't so, I'm gonna say people can use whatever name they want.

Well, there was the Super Nintendo, and then the Nintendo 64 because it's a 64bit system and such. Pretty much putting a number at the end of Nintendo in the latter example. And then you know 3DS and all. But you're right about not numbering the consoles because they're a (successor? sequel? whatever the word is I want) to the previous.

At the least, the "Nintendo Black" (I'll start using quotes cuz it bothers everyone so much) will be named the Wii 2k because it'll put out 2000p graphics (once again, joking/guessing, haters). That or some quirky name Miyamoto came up with in a dream.

Iwata did say the next system would most likely support 3D. Other then that, I can only guess power upgrades, hard drive, expand the download limit, and Nintendo will get on board with DLC.

They'll call it whatever they want. I find it easier to say or type than "Nintendo's next console to be released sometime soon"

My dream console would have about 8GB of flash storage, run games off of SD cards or a similar flash cart, put out 2k or 4k graphics, be super compact, and have a convertible controller kinda like the Wii Remote but a bit more like a Transformer so it could actually change shape. (8GB is plenty, the Wii can hold dozens of games with 512MB of flash)

No it can't. Unless they're NES games.

Fair enough, but I wouldn't use them as a benchmark for space usage. NES games are tiiiiiny.

Think about this though, WiiWare games are a lot of blocks, but I've worked it out and a block is about 75% of a KB. Another example would be that an 8GB iPod touch can hold dozens of apps.

Also, I didn't say NES games are a good benchmark, they're just fun.

Assuming the next console has all this magical 2000p, 3D, and whatnot, don't you think that the sizes will be larger for an average game? There's a reason lots of Xboxs and PS3s have hard drives.

Yeah, that's true. I do wonder how they plan to pull off 3D in a home console, though. There's 1 person in my town with a 3DTV. 1 in 3000 sounds like even a little much for the ratio of people with 3DTVs. If Nintendo does do all that stuff, it would have to be built into a TV. Another way of achieving 3D would be having an option to use a 3DS as a controller. I think that might happen because it has all of the functions of the Wii Remote and more.
