Topic: Nintendo backlog - something positive

Back in the day, when I was still playing on my 360 and dismissing nintendo as something below me, I had quite a backlog of games on my shelf. These were not necessarily bad games, I generally bought discounted games which I knew were sort of worth playing. Then came a time were this backlog grew heavy on me. It seemed as if I had to work myself through this pile of games and it really seemed like work to me. I had lots of games to choose from and seldom knew which one to pick.
Fast forward until today, my backlog of games on my shelf and digital has never been that enormous. I started with the wii u and 2ds and acumulated more games than I will be able to play through for the next couple of years I guess. Yet, when I have a look at it, it doesnt feel like I have to work myself through. Its more like a positive feeling, knowing that there is lots of fun yet to be had. In regard to the switch, which I am planning to get for christmas 2017, I dont worry about any possible gaming droughts.

What are your feelings about backlogs?

There's certainly great diversity available to the Nintendo console owner. I've got a mountain of games waiting to be played on my Wii U, but there's only a few in that list that aren't particularly exciting for me to anticipate playing (I'm part way through Deus Ex: HR but it doesn't really get my juices flowing, and Devil's Third looks kinda fun but also kinda generic). But the rest are almost all gold.

My biggest backlog problem is that I've spent so much time playing FIFA 13 and Mario Kart 8 online etc rather than ploughing through the campaign's in all the other games.

And at the same time I've also started from scratch on a 3DS and PS3 collection and been bolstering my Steam collection. I've easily got 10 years of gameplay at my rate sitting on the shelf/virtual shelf.

But it's not a 'to 'do' list, it's a library. I know they're there for me to play as and when I choose, but try and avoid feeling the need to get through them all as quickly as possible. Each game deserves proper time and attention - if I try and rush through a game just to get on to the next one I don't enjoy the experience.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

Nothing is true. Everything is permitted.
