Got a drive for my computer last year, and found a program (paid a lot of money for it too, which sucks...) that worked pretty well for a while. Except now it has crashes and causes issues with my computer. The worst part being, I'm JUST NOW finding out the stupid company doesn't support the program anymore when it comes to technical support. :/
I tried dealing with it but I'm getting irritated with my movies/shows getting permanently interrupted with a crash and my computer locking up because of it. ANNNNNNYways, anyone know of a good program out there to play BluRay? Looked around for free ones but wanted to ask around just to be safe, I know some "free" stuff out there can bring in viruses and crap.
Sorta...I used to use that, but apparently to get it to play BluRay you gotta do all this complicated stuff and download other files. Tried it before countless times and couldn't get it to work. :c
Also for whatever reason VLC put a trojan on my computer, thankfully at that time I had Avast, so it didn't really do anything. lol

Yeah, I popped a disc in the try it out. Didn't work. Tried the fix I found on Google. Still not working. Tried a few different discs too, so it's not that. Well, there goes the only recommendation I had. VLC works for everything except bluray, I guess.

Yeah, plus I remembered that it was having issues with my discs. Like every now and then the video would stutter or lag for a few. I THINK I found another program that's kinda like VLC, but is supposed to work with BluRay. It says for certain CPUs, though...and I have no idea how to look that part up...so I guess I'm gonna try.
Said something about SSE CPU, and...yeah can't find anything on this...
EDIT: Of course...it just freezes up and has issues before I even load the disc. T.T
Well, there's always pirating. Not that I can endorse it (officially), but in my opinion, software companies really bring it on themselves by charging anywhere from $40-120 for a piece of software to play a BD you already own on the PC you already own. You can buy an actual BD player for $40 lol.

....Well, besides TotalMedia Theater (the one I was using that crapped out on me. >_>), what other program out there should I go for? Was hoping to find something free, but that seems impossible...

AnyDVD HD works (There is a 21 day trial). Problem is with any of these things the way for it to work is to bypass large parts of Windows causing a right mess.

It is to do with the fact that they change the keys every so often. The players that work in a sensible manner use keys that are cracked from other players that follow the rules.

Well I decided to go to Microsoft's forum to see if they could help, so...I dunno. At least you tried, kinda did wished VLC worked, though, because aside from those issues, it worked fine for me.
