Topic: My Subconscious is Urging Me to Get DS Consoles!

A few days ago, I made a decision to collect handheld Nintendo gaming items, including at least one of each system and many different games (eBay is sure to become a close friend in my endeavour). Anyway, I just had a particularly vivid dream in which I was sorting through a pile of different boxed Nintendo DS consoles. It had DS lites, DSis and DSi XLs in every available colour worldwide. Anyway, I had really looked at a Bronze DSi XL, a whole bunch of DS lites (I couldn't really pick a colour), and (here's where it gets strange) a red, a green, and a blue DSi (standard model). Now, the fact that I chose these colours specifically means that I had chosen overseas colours as opposed to the only other three available here (I have metallic blue, the others being matte white, matte black and pink), and it got me thinking...why would my subconscious be telling me to go with a DSi from each region worldwide? I'd essentially be having a green one from Japan, a red one from Europe and a blue one from the US. Perhaps the 'one of each unit' ideal has an extra kink that I failed to comprehend? Either that or my subconscious wants access to every single item in every single DSi Shop worldwide.

And yet it failed to include Korea in the equation...

Well a green DSi would be awesome. Buying all of them would be, uhh, expensive and not really worth it, surely?

But beware region differences in the DSiWare store.

@NintendoPurist: You really live up to your name, I like that. Funny story, your subconscious seems to have a plan.

The sad thing is, if you really are a Nintendo purist, then your missing out on alot. I just got a PS3 and I'm lovin it. Still have alot of Nintendo games including the hardcore old school titles, but the new generation of consoles are just too good to pass. I can't wait for a new Nintendo cosole that has online, graphics, and trophie system like the other consoles, but I may never get that, so I play Ps3. Still want a Xbox 360 for the exclusives. Anyway, that sounds like a waste unless you're making bank, but if you end up quiting or thinking thats too hard on your budget, get the Bronze DSi Xl, I prefer it way over the original DSi.

Don't forget the iQue DSi, or you can't play games in Chinese. They need some extra memory or something to store the character set.

I am way too lazy to think of something clever.

Yeah the iQue DSes have different internals to handle the massive Chinese character set. But they can't play non-Chinese carts AFAIK.

Once, I had a dream where I killed a person, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't my subconscious urging me to do it in real life.

Just let it happen.

@HM

Actually (at least according to wikipedia) they can play other region's games.

Never trust Wikipedia! Last year, on the page for Pokemon Red, it said that it (along with Pokemon Blue) were to be amongst the first titles available for Game Boy in the DSi Shop, due for release last May!

@NintendoPurist: Blindly trust Wikipedia...of course not?! They allow anyone to edit their articles. I mean, I could go in and edit an article to say that DSi units are given away for free to Nintendo Life members by NintendoPurist according to their country of origin, but that wouldn't really be true, would it?
I've only once found an article to be messed up and not fixed, in fact looking it up right now, its still not fixed. The team names are all messed up.

What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.

Do a google search, the rest of the internet agrees with me (i know, that's not saying much).

That Wikipedia article is pretty funny though. Is there a cache somewhere of the entire article...because the real article has, in fact, been edited back.

@Token Girl Yeah, I know you're right. I was mistaken - it's actually the opposite, normal DSes can't play iQue DS games. They tend not to outright lie on Wikipedia, unless there's edit warring or some prankster like above.

Yeah, it's a funny edit. The picture is from a pretty long time ago, but I'm sure it would be in the William Shakespeare edit history. I don't know what the date is unfortunately.
