If you were a fan of Silicon Knights’ psychological horror game Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem for the GameCube back in the day, Nintendo of America may have made your day.
The Big N recently re-tradmarked the game earlier this week paving the way for a possible sequel.
I unabashedly loved Eternal Darkness when it came out and still own a copy that I play now and again. It was definitely one of the best GameCube games released and stands up as a great survival horror game. Honestly this trademark could just be Nintendo adding another title to it’s New Play Control series, by my fingers are crossed that we’ll see a sequel.

I hope they do make a new ED tho. I just played the first one again. So I really hope a 2nd is in the works.

I've been wishing for Eternal Darkness 2 ever since beating the original way back in 2002. The ending even hints at a sequel but it never happened. Why the heck didn't they ever make another one? Too many uninformed people ignoring the game I guess. Those who have played it know it's awesome. The wait has been far long enough. Give us a sequel already!

Considering Silicon Knights' last effort (Too Human, which took what, 10 years to make) I wouldn't hold out hope for a good ED2. Dennis Dyack lost the plot years ago.
I thought Eternal Darkness was good. the unique story and getting to play in different time periods kept me interested, but the gameplay was kind of repetetive and boring. I wouldn't be against a sequel, but I'm not going to demand one.
Even if it's a new game in the series, there's only a slim chance Denis Dyack would be involved. If he isn't involved, there's really no point in making a sequel. It would be like making Metal Gear Solid 5 with no input at all from Kojima.
"Not very scary?" Must be why I liked it when I'm not generally a fan of anything in the horror genre, then. Even so, there were some parts that freaked me out a good bit...probably because I haven't dulled my senses with an overabundence of this stuff.
Anyway...a sequel could be good, or a remake, or whatever they feel the need to do. Of course, I should really get around to playing it through twice more and unlocking the final ending...
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
I actually played it through 3 times to get the final ending and remember thinking "All that trouble for that?". Lol. I thought the atmosphere was pretty creepy in some parts, but in other parts it felt more like an Indiana Jones adventure game. It was a cool game though and I'd like to see a sequel.
Why do i smell 3DS sequels for Luigi's Mansion and Eternal Darkness and possably Geist
