I feel awkward when I get a request from an aunt or uncle to be my friend......there's too much personal stuff that I wouldn't want my parents to read about on there. Do you add your older family members? Do you add your parents on Facebook? lol

The only family members on my Facebook are my sis and my cousin. Though if an aunt or uncle sent me a friend request, I'd accept it since I'm desperate for friends.
Whenever I log on to facebook, about once per 2-3 months i'll add any invites i've gotten from any family member and friends. I don't see why not.
There he goes, Firkraag. One of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die. - My VGscore
no reason why i shouldn't, don't have nothing to hide from them. i posted the lyrics to lets get it on for no reason the other day and got a few lol messages from them, so its cool lol
In all seriousness, if there's really personal stuff you wouldn't want someone with access to the Internet and the ability to enter your name into a search box to read, put it in a real book and not on Facebook. I know of many people who've put stuff online, thinking "person X will never read this", and they have and it's not necessarily gone well.
Get that stuff in a proper book and get a lock for it. Sorted.
Edit: To answer the original question, my mother-in-law and her sister are both my friends on Facebook. If my parents joined, I wouldn't hesitate to add them, but then they might be confused by my latest status update about the radio show "Big Dicks"!

We were going to have that song as our first dance but we were worried what our parents would think when that cheeky guitar intro started. We should have taken a leaf out of your (Face)book and just done it!
I'm not on Facebook or Myspace for these very reasons!
A few years ago, it was like this secret culture among younger people and now my Grandparents and Aunts are on there. I suppose they have the right to be there, but it makes it less cool. My brother who has both also said that he doen't like it as much anymore now that he has to practically invite everyone to be friends with him. and he notices he has to edit his writting more.
I was smart enough to never make my private life up for grabs to the universe!
