Topic: The rule against, religious and political discussion?

I get that some articles are often political or religious in nature. However, I liked the rule. It kept the community friendly. It actually helped me gain a little character. I was very used to heavy political discussion when I joined here.

The rules apply to the community... Not necessarily the main articles posted by members of the staff. Of course, the comment section is still part of the community.

If an article feels a bit too agaisnt the community rules, be sure to let them know. Preferably via contact form.

This was about a rule that was there when I joined, that seems to be reworked to allow political discussion?

It was blatantly specific. TBD used to enforce it all the time.

I'm not entirely sure what you're getting at, but rest assured that discussion about politics or religion stills falls under the "use your common sense" part of the spectrum of things not to talk about here. Mostly because they go ugly 99% of the time.

While we may be slow or a bit lenient with it in some articles, that doesn't mean people can freely go nuts with it.

Yes, truly!

Since the rule is more lenient now, I still take it pretty seriously. I may to refer to things here and there. Because there is the censorship and localization methods that are tied to politics and religion. Sigh, that doesn't mean I want a discussion on politics and religion, such as like that guy was trying to do.

You can discuss general stuff like laws, but stuff like the presidential election is off-limits here. You also cannot discussion topics such as which religion is better. These 99% of the time lead to a ban or three due to someone going overboard.

Amen, and I was just confused because the rules seemed to have been reworked.

I wasn't attempting to actually disguss poli or reli. I did that once as a newb... which was almost 7 years ago. I actually agree with a limit of poli and reli discussing in this community. It's been pleasant here... That one guy decided to go off the wall and trying to discuss religion and politics, when I was just mentioning how the "SJW" tend to mirror the religious. Trying to explain certain mentalities among political groups that champion censorship and certain localization methods, is hard when there are people who lack self awareness — or understanding how I've come to the conclusion of why I'm using it as an example. Sigh...
