Wow, ya' know, you're really good! I almost can't believe you've said you don't have any experience.

I tried the simplest thing of all (the little chat bubble star on your Robot picture) and I couldn't seem to get those perfectly straight lines. It always looks as if the red is blending in with the yellow.. maybe I'm just not good :P

Google search for artwork by Mary Blair, you'll get an idea of what I'm seeing in your work. (I wish this website had a way to send personal messages so I could explain better without boring everyone else.) I keep going back to look at your Robot for inspiration.

Wow, thanx! :D Just googled Mary Blair her art is rocking and will definitely be an inspiration for me in the future, definitely know what u mean about the Incredibles, the funny thing is its one of my favourite films! :D Thanx again for all your compliments!

The thinnest round brush with full paint and 1 dot of water is ur best friend when it comes to smooth lines and edges. Also the flat brushes with full paint and 1 dot of water are great for getting really thick colour. Thanx for you compliments! Its true that I haven't had any formal training but Ive been doing digital art as a hobby for some years now, I stopped recently tho due to lack of time and responsibilities. Art Academy has got me back into art so hopefully I'll produce some digital art again soon! :D

Well don't you stop! That's some of the best art making I've seen period, and the fact that you did it on a DSi is incredible. applaud

FATEM - I really like your little drawings. Because you've done them as animations it really makes you stop and watch what they're going to become, rather than just take a quick glance at the drawing and move on. Could post your Flipnote friend code so I could bookmark you as a friend?

Every time I draw something with Art Academy I get frustrated and quit without saving. I love pencil sketching then I ruin my drawing by adding paint. I need more practice. Anyway, here are my lesson drawings.

Taya - Your paintings look fine to me! I think it's like Dru said and it's just a matter of getting used to the paint brushes. Maybe what you should do is do your pencil sketches until you're happy with it, then save it to the DSi album. Then you can continue in the paint feature. That way at least you won't loose your pencil drawing.
Are those last 3 pictures of yours from lessons from the second semester?

I did painting yesterday. I know it's not brilliant or anything ... and I should have given it some sort of background. But I tried drawing this duck over the summer on Flipnotes and just could not get it right for anything. I was so frustrated with it that I gave up playing Flipnotes for a while. I did a much better job drawing it in Art Academy. So now that beast is conquered, I'm moving on to something else. :D

Thanks. Yes the last three are from the Second Semester. The next lesson is a landscape which I personally find boring but I will eventually push myself to do it. I mostly use Free Paint to doodle which is why I don't mind if I wreck my drawing with paint. My New Years resolution this year is to draw one picture every day. I'll probably draw with the DSi on some days.

As for Flipnote Studio, I've done a few flips that I'm proud of. I'm working on one now but it's taking a really long time!
