I don't like censorship, but it would be nice if there was less nudity/near-nudity in video games altogether. It turns women away from video games and makes men look like horny 13-year-olds.

I always hear the argument that "sex sells" but did you know you can get porn for free from the internet instead of buying a $50 game featuring cleavage? It's true! There's money in your pocket.

While I'm still interested in the game, it's no longer a must-buy. There will be plenty of games to choose from in September, but in February there wasn't anything else to compete for my money. Maybe I will buy it someday when it's cheap.

Taya commented on Review: Harvest Moon (3DS eShop / Game Boy Color):

The SNES version of Harvest Moon is really great for how simple it is. This one is a little too simple, but it's still fun and I'm going to get it when it comes out here, even though I own the original black-and-white Gameboy game.

For those of you who haven't played a Harvest Moon game in many years, Animal Parade for the Wii and A New Beginning for the 3DS are both really great. The bests in the series for sure.

Taya commented on Talking Point: The Download or Disc Dilemma:

I have VC, Wiiware, 3DSware etc games and I also have quite a few games on Steam, however I will always choose the physical game if the option exists. There's nothing wrong with digital only games but having the real disc feels so much more real. Plus I'll always be a collector at heart.

If eshop games were significantly cheaper than physical games I might consider them, but not if they're the same price.

I don't plan to boycott the game, but if there are other games that I want coming out in September that compete for my money, I may not get it. However if it was being released in February, I'd get it without thought. There isn't much out for the Wii U right now and I really want a new game. It's too bad Rayman isn't going to benefit from people like me who are itching to spend their money on a game for their new console.

Taya commented on Aonuma: "We'll See" About Zelda Voice Acting:

I almost always prefer no voice acting in games because of a) voice acting that doesn't represent how real people talk and b) I can read faster than they can speak so I either cut them short or wait for them to finish. There have been exceptions though and I think sometimes voice acting adds to the experience.

I don't want Link to ever be voice acted because they'll never get it just right. In fact, the silly noises that he makes in Skyward Sword when he touches lava or falls off a cliff are too much as it is. Wind Waker Link is the closest they've gotten to a good Link voice.

The first Zelda isn't really that hard, but yes you will get a few Game Overs unless you are really experienced with the game. I've finished it a couple of times.

Zelda II is much much more difficult.

Taya commented on These Are The 10 NES Ambassador Games in Japan:

I'm happy with these games. I was considering buying Zelda II on the VC so this saves me the money and the trouble.

And for those complaining, Nintendo doesn't owe you anything. You run the risk of a price drop whenever you buy anything expensive. I admit I was very surprised when the price dropped so quickly but I was willing to buy it for full price when I did so why would I be less satisfied when the price dropped? And we get 20 free games when they don't have to give us anything.

I also disagree with this review. I have had no problems with the controls and I never ever felt lost or confused about what I was supposed to do. It's incredibly straightforward. I guess it's just not for everyone.

Taya commented on Features: Re-Examining Zelda: Twilight Princess:

I loved every moment of Twilight Princess but I don't think it stands up against my favourites: Wind Waker and Link's Awakening.

TP is the first Zelda game where I enjoyed the dungeons more than screwing around in the overworld though. It had some excellent dungeons.

I have never played a Metroid game and I've never been interested in Metroid no matter how many times people recommend Super Metroid or Prime. But for some reason Other M appeals to me. It looks fun. I haven't played it yet because the mixed reviews but I'll certainly pick it up in the future and it will probably be my first Metroid game. At least then I won't have a preconception about what Samus should be like.

Taya commented on Features: Things We Miss About the 8-Bit Era:

Great article! It makes me feel good that I grew up in the NES days. I got a NES in 1988 when I was 5 years old. I fondly recall blowing in the cartridges, never finishing a game, and somehow knowing the secrets of Mario 1 without having the internet or a Nintendo Power subscription.

I played the demo and I couldn't get into it. I liked Yoshi Touch and Go and I LOVED Kirby's Canvas Curse but there was something about Ivy that turned me off. I can't put my finger on it.
