i dunno, the train's just a stand-in for getting around by boat, it seems, and that worked all right for Phantom Hourglass. as long as there's still dungeons and puzzles to complete, and as long as it gets decent ratings, I'll at least give it a shot before dismissing it entirely. the non-train bits of the trailer looked interesting.

Honestly, i kind of dislike it. The horse did the job just fine, and the fun thing about it was that it allowed you to explore the lands. Exploring the overworld is a good part of a Zelda experience.

Also, I dislike Zelda Stylus controls. Give me buttons everyday.

Don't let my location fool you. I'm Québécois, not Canadian.

@cryptonic: the controls for Phantom Hourglass killed my hands (my left hand, anyway, because i use the stylus with my right). holding the DS up for as long as it took to collect enough orbs and hearts and ship parts to power Link and the ship up... my poor knuckles were sore for nearly a week after I finished the game. I, too, would like to have the option of button controls for this one as opposed to it being (mostly) stylus-only.

also, somersaulting was a pain in the rear end. it's a good thing knowing how to do it wasn't required to finish the game, because i'd'a been screwed.

Well i dont see why your knuckles hurted from holding it up. it would seem a bit too stiff using the d-pad. i prefer making link follow the stylus around.but it should let us put our own controls.i know a bunch of people who have messed up touch screens so they cant play.

ah, i didn't realize you were being sarcastic up there, then. my bad. :3 as for how my knuckles were sore, i don't know how that happened either -- i just remember that after a few nights of playing, my hand started to ache and i'd have to reposition the DS, but then i'd revert to the position that felt most natural to play in (if I had to hit the d-pad as well as the L button for whatever reason) and suddenly i realized that it really, really hurt to continue to hold the DS that way. the fingers that hurt were the ones that were supporting the DS (my ring and pinky), and if i'd been playing in front of a table it probably wouldn't have been an issue, but i was either sitting in a chair or lying in bed while playing PH for comfort reasons, and so i had to hold the thing up in front of my face and play somehow.

with other long games that offered button directional controls as well as stylus controls (Suikoden Tierkreis, for example; i'm pretty sure my last save on that game was 60 hours even), my hand(s) hurting wasn't an issue.
