the game is called Gangstar: West Coast Hustle and it looks better then chinatown wars. the game is being developed by gameloft so theirs a chance for a wiiware or dsiware release.

so what do you guys think?

What a horrible game title. Really, that's just awful. As for the game itself, it could be passable. Not really expecting it for DSiWare though.

Mario Forever! (free nipple suit and gratuitous butt-shots included)

It would be kinda hard yo put that in DSiware, especially since that it is a full 3d open world game

Being Gameloft I wouldnt rule it out completely but no doubt they would have to make some big changes to make it play well on the DSi. I cant imagine why a full 3d open world game wouldnt be possible on the DSi, but not to the standard that was shown in those screen shots and the video clip. Mabey it would be better if they made something similar but make it episodic and thus making a smaller sandbox but at least it would have better quality of gameplay.

What standards are those? Because I'm not seeing anything I'm impressed by. The sides of buildings, for example, look like they're one low-res, repeating texture. Same with the railings on the dock. Kind of sad, actually. But very workable in a small space. I imagine the graphics would end up being pretty similar to the Asphalt 4 backgrounds.

FWIW, I think people tend to overestimate the size of some data files. Having a "3D Open World" is not what takes up the space. It's the amount of detail you put in it. Relatively low detail (which is what I'm seeing in those screenshots) doesn't take that much memory at all.

It wasnt so much the screenshots but the video I was thinking about, I would imagine the framerate would suffer terribly as the Ipod touch has a much faster CPU and even the videos wernt able to show a completely fluid game yet. I am a big fan of Asphalt 4 on the DSi but even then there was an obvious difference in standard of graphics between Iphone and DSi, but I still thought it played well. What im trying to say really is that I would rather have slightly reduced graphics in order to have a good framerate and an obviously fluid game.

NLife mentioned a twitter message that hinted at a game called car jack streets coming to dsiware.

There were a number of missing vehicle models in asphalt 4 making it seem like Gangstar would be a tough game to port. Also considering that gameloft got rid of all the girl pics for dsi asphalt, it kinda shows me what they think of dsi's "mature" demographic.

Isn't there an overhead prequel of the game on mobile phones? That'd be more likely.
