Oh, I ran out of space last month!! LOL. I buy nearly every dsiware game (because I'm a freak) and I love dsiware shop. Come on Nintendo... work with us!!!!
Friend Code: 4511-0578-9918 Fan of: Zelda, Mario, Pac-Man, Metroid, Capt Toad, the list goes on. Love all systems: GBA, GBA SE, NES, Gameboy, 3DS, N64, Super Nintendo, etc, Atari, etc.
I just wanted to say... THANK YOU for starting this topic, Bubby323! This really needed to be said!!! Is there a way we can propose this argument to the higher ups at Nintendo from this website?
With the release of Flipnote Studio yesterday I was presented with the message of not having enough space to download the application, so I went back to the DSi menu and deleted some of my games and downloaded Flipnote Studio. My point here is, if Nintendo wants us to buy their games they need to give people like me a way to play them off the SD card or something, because I cant deal with this for another 2 years! What do you think and has anybody had a similar problem or is it just me?

Bubby... you are a brilliant man! That's exactly what I was going to say... LOL!
Nintendo needs to get over the fact that homebrew is going to come to their console. It will come, and sooner than they think. They cant be afraid forever and keep trying to block that when it is impossible to do, they will never win. They need to be doing more for us than worrying about homebrew! After all we did buy their $170 console you think they could do a little more for us. Its not like they dont have the people to make this work!
It needed to be said and it's the truth I'm glad you feel the same way!

Then I must be a freak too because I have all except like 5 them...lol

I think maybe we could but a simple email wouldn't do we need something stronger...
It's already been stated before, and yes. I personally find it stupid that they are making the DSi users suffer because they are over fearful of pirates. It's bad logic really.. The problem with pirates, is when they want something, they get it no matter what. Usually free. But if Nintendo just gave us, potential pirates, what we wanted, it would curb a lot of pirates. They'll always be some, but giving us what we want will help curb them.
I for one am going to jump on the homebrew channel when it happens in a heartbeat because Nintendo isn't giving me a video player or VC. I'm willing to pay for these, but if they don't give it to me, I'll find it somehow.
So this leads to the whole storage solution because they fear about pirates using the SD card to hack the DSi... Please, it'll happen regardless, so just give us the solution, we all know they have it since they already went through this with the Wii.

The DSi is suppose to have 256MB of space, which is pathetic but anyways. I have all my games backed on on my SD card, and I mean ALL of them. I downloaded every single game by throwing money at crap.
So I check out my sd card and find that the games folder is only 219.3MB in size, but I can't even fit half that on my DSi. Now I'm aware that a bit of data is sectioned off for photos and probably save, but I mean how much free space do we actually have for games? Cause it sure as hell isn't 256MB. It's not even 200.
Wow... really?! I have 20 dsiware games/apps! lol ;-0)

Er, make that 21. Just purchased Arts & Letters last night... And loving it.

With my very rough math, I found out that the 1024 blocks for DSiWare is around 105.7 - 127.9MB (So your right bubby) The room for the photos are 40.22MB. A 20MB DSiWare game would be around 161 - 193 Block.
Memos = ? Sound = ? OS = ?
So that's sad. lol We have a pathetic memory, but also a pathetic partitioned memory.

WOW!!! Pathetic. Why did they make it with such little memory? How much does the newest PSP have??
Nintendo is going to have to allow straight through access on SD cards if it wants to keep its customer base...!

@Scarecrow No more Flipnote petitions! Those are buried!
Alluding to the topic, I may fill up my space one day (considering most have already) but I wish Nintendo should've taken a good lesson from what the Wii experienced. Bubby, you made the best reply on the thread saying that Homebrew of course will come, to any system possible. That's true. As for the SD storage, Nintendo needs to face the facts that homebrewing won't stop because anyone says so, but if they wanna do the storage solution, they better plan and plan real hard to dodge piracy because if they screw it up, we'll all lose credibility for them.
I was also hoping SD memory could help with the DSi Browser with some sites that tends to run out of memory. (Correct me if I made any mistakes). But seriously, DSi SD Card Menu will have to happen soon enough.

Wrong type of memory. RAM is the memory that the browser cares about. Flash is what is termed as "storage". A very slow (compared to RAM) place to put things where it won't get lost when you power off the machine.
