I think chances are good for this one (in its original form. Nintendo won't up the resolution or anything, and you know it), but we'll probably be seeing Super Mario Land 2 first.
Since the eShop Ambassador program was announced with the original SMB being one of the NES games, I highly doubt this will be coming since we now have that. Just sayin'
This is a great 3ds virtual console game
a must own for any 3ds owner
remember to put we need more vc games on your club nintendo survey
and also add donkey kong land 1 in Jan. 2015 on there too.

I guess I'm playing this for the collectibles. (luckily the NES version is also available on 3DS)
This port is honestly pretty terrible and guess since I finished SMB once I guess it sort of qualifies as playable.
Obviously the camera issues, but Mario also seems to control much more slippery than the NES version (physics are definitely changed).
Reviving a 3 1/2 year-old thread, are we now? I read the review; the game doesn't sound exciting besides the level select. I'll pass and look forward to Leafgreen and Firered: the only remakes I care about from the NES - Gamecube generations.

Kirby, King Dedede, Mega Man
I'll give them they at least thought of using Up/Down to move the camera, but in a fast action game, that's not enough.
Wish they would've just remade the levels using the Super Mario Land engine. I'd take tiny graphics with a wide view over detail with a small view.
Or at least had an option for both (like the Pac-Man ports did).
Just finished watching a Let's Player play something, somewhat infamous, I forgot about that Nintendo should TOTALLY add to the VC after this.
Super Mario 3 Special (or Special 3?) for the Game Boy Color! (since Nintendo didn't port SMB3, one of the most popular NES games ever, to the GBC, some HK pirates decided to)
It's like if Dennis Hopper pointed his Devolve Gun at SMB3 and turned it into a Action 52 game.
(lacking things such as most power-ups, responsive or even logical controls, good music...)
(at least, I assume talking about old and silly "bootleg original" games is within the rules)
I remember having that game for Christmas of 2000 alongsde with New GameBoy Color (Green) and Wario Land 3 game. That is when I discovered how Super Mario Bros. is alike before I discovered it was originally from old NES system. Currently my Game Boy Color was wrecked by my angry mom when I got into trouble in school for lack of effort and concentration in schoolwork. Years later I have Game Boy Advance SP (Still alive), and then months ago I have 3DS XL. And when it came out from eShop Channel, I immediately bought it happily. It's good to have it back and for the Challenge Mode, I didn't get to finish every places.
I just thought about the "not allowed to play for x time" punishment. I wonder how much worse that would've been if real-time games like Animal Crossing were around when I was a kid? (and if I was into that sort of thing, I haven't actually really tried out AC myself)
I just downloaded Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for my 3DS last night. In world 4-3 I can't jump high enough to get up on one of the platforms - anyone have a solution to this?
I did keep trying for awhile and got frustrated with it. I also tried jumping past the platform onto a lower platform but kept hitting the higher one and then I would fall. I went down a warp pipe in world 4-2 and bypassed it into world 5 for now, but I still want to go through the courses I missed, so I guess I'll just keep trying like you did. Thanks
