I was thinking of sending in my 3DS in for repair because of the scratches on the top screen, and to get my warranty extended, and I've hear people just end up with a new 3DS when they send it in because of scratching so I wondered if they'll perform the system transfer in case I end up with a new one?
My SD Card with the game on it is just as physical as your cartridge with the game on it.
I love Nintendo, that's why I criticize them so harshly.
If the only problem you're having with your 3DS are the screen scratches, they shouldn't have to give you a new 3DS. If they do, however, they should do a System Transfer there. Just as a reminder, in the instructions they give you when sending in your 3DS, they tell you to remove everything from your 3DS before sending it in, which includes your SD card. I'm assuming that would be a final backup, as if they don't do a System Transfer there they should make your new 3DS compatible with the old one's SD card data.
