Topic: System transfer: Do i need NNID?

I have co-workers who are telling me to not setup a NNID on my sons 3ds console. Their explanation was that if my son didn't want it and I wanted to sell it, I would not be able to transfer the NNID to another buyer where the information registered for the ID would still be under my information. So they said that without a NNID attached, I don't have that issue because the new owner can do what they want with it without worry of me as the seller removing it with a data transfer. The other reason they gave is that I will have the option to either sell the console separate from the eshop games. They said without a NNID I can transfer the games to another console and the buyer can then make his own NNID on his system if he has no eshop games to begin with.

I am just the mom so trying to do the best thing down the road to give us the most flexibliity to sell it together as a bundle or separately. I verified by calling nintendo and they confirmed that it is against the TOS to sell a console with eshop games on it as the NNID is linked to the owner. But they would not answer the part of having no NNID as my co-workers recommended.

Does anyone have any suggestion or advice on what I should do.
