My 3dsXL has a strange problem: My L-Button isn't working any more EXCEPT with the rotation of the home-Screen elements. Can anyone confirm that thisis a hardware or software issue and potentially tell me a solution?
@Bhrian Sounds like maybe it's a software issue? If the buttons never work, then you're definitely looking at a hardware problem.
Your issue isn't something I've heard of, so I searched Nintendo support. If you haven't already, try a hard reboot (hold power down until system reboots).

If you end up contacting Nintendo or someone else looking for repair, you'll want to know if the problem is with one game only, or all games you try (try 2 or 3+ games). Maybe a game store in your region also repairs consoles.
Could you explain what you mean by rotation of home screen elements? The L button shouldn't do anything on the home screen by itself. Pressing L and R together should open the camera.
