What do you guys think of it? Anyone planning on purchasing on release date or have your copy already pre-ordered? Tell me what you think of The Mercenaries and how you hope for Revelations to play out. Also, who will YOU play as in The Mercenaries?

I'm definitely looking forward to this. Can't wait to hear and see more details at E3.

I'm not much interested in Mercenaries, but the demo is enticing. I might grab it on the cheap someday if I don't end up just getting Revelations. As for Revelations, I just hope it's scary. I'm not hard to frighten, but this series hasn't been scary in a long time.

Im completely NOT looking forward for it!
They should have included mercs mode into revelations as in every other RE game.
As for now i will get RE: Revelations but skip Mercs , its just so boring after 30 mins and doesnt have a long lasting appeal.

just to milk some cheap coins if you ask me ....

PS: preordering seems useless nowadays if it gets so much delay as with the 3DS launch games

cheers

Lol yeah I really hope they put that scare back in like they used to have with Resident Evil 1 on the Gamecube, as soon as I saw those Crimson Heads, I dropped the pad and ran out of my room lol. It should be (Revelations anyway) since its set on a ship or something right? And if its on a ship you're secluded inside, well you're pretty much screwed lol. But The Mercenaries, well only thing that would scare me would be when I hear the sound of a chainsaw lol

Ah, well Revelation will be a keeper for sure if they incorporate the horror that they used to have back in the days. The Mercenaries, well I guess its for those who really enjoyed the mercs game in 4 and 5 and it really gives you a challenge. And a nice thing about it will be the online wi-fi co-op which I hope doesn't lag when it comes to gameplay lol. Eitherway, yeah, the Revelations demo will probably the main reason of purchase for the RE fans, right?

To clarify, I'm moreso looking forward to the Revelations demo. I'll wait and see more details at E3 on Mercenaries.

Thats rediculous , Demos are supposed to be FREE OF CHARGE !!
Didnt think companies can get so easy money from sheep customers nowadays.
Make a stand ! and let RE : Mercenaries flop big time ....

Mercenaries is good for those who haven't played it on RE5 at least. Pack in bonus demoes have meen around for years, and from my experience they're always nice bonuses. So while I'm not gonna rush out and buy it, I'm not looking to see it flop either.

RE: Mercenaries would be DLC for like 10 euros on any steam or Xboxlive or what you got
so yeah its just rediculous especially paying 45 euros for it , just retarded for a mini game ...

I've not experienced Mercenaries mode myself, but I've heard some people quoting some rediculous times on Mercenaries mode on both RE4 and RE5. Not something I would expect out of a "Minigame."

Thats untrue ...
I played merc mode in RE5 and the time you got for the level is fixed at start its low minutes and there is a fixed bunch of "clocks" which you can collect while comboing up so max session would be like 8 minutes
And yes it IS a minigame , maybe funny for a day but gets weak and pointless
Imo Coop-Story in RE5 was MUCH more fun and rewarding in so many ways ...
well try merc in either RE4 or RE5 and see for yourself , its not worth a look ...

PS: RE was always played because of the MAIN story

Well, obviously this game isn't for you, but that doesn't mean others won't or shouldn't enjoy it.

Guys guys, dont fight, please. and well yeah Mercenaries IS just for fun, something to play while Revelations is on the way, and with the 3D visuals, it'll look flashy too. Main thing though, is that they have Wesker, Hunk and alot of others that were'nt playable in the Merc mini games. I haven't played Resident Evil 5 myself so I'm not sure who's playable there, but it'll fun to see what Wesker's capable of, right?

I agree and hey Mickey long time no chat lol. Eitherway, its a good purchase for a Resident Evil fan. and like I said earlier, its just something to keep you occupied until Revelations. And whats even better is the new Operation Raccoon City still in development, so we'll get like 2 goodies from Capcom this year

actually u CAN play wesker in RE5 mercs
and well he can dash and is faster, got desert eagle etc but not that much exciting
anyhow IF i would choose for merc char go with Jill valentine , hrhrhr

PS Hunk was already playable in RE4
its all just recycling ... combine RE5 graphics with RE4 hidden chars and levels -> bam you have Merc for 3DS
i just say all who are intrigued at least try Merc mode on RE4 or RE5 at least for 30 mins , you will see for yourself what i mean ......

I knew HUNK was in there lol, but I was always close to unlocking him, but never got the chance to. and I've Umbrella Chronicles (22 hours worth of gameplay in and everything maxed lol, a great game though) Still, it'll be nice to see HUNK taking on the enemies from RE5 and see how he deals with them lol. But the main aspect HAS to be the 3D their going to incorporate into the game, even if it is a mini game

well RE5 was one of the first AAA title to contain 3D
so guess why they can spam so fast Merc 3D for the 3DS
yes ... the enigne can be used for PC as well for the 3Ds and it was from the beginning capable of stereo 3D ...
cool MT framework stuff
