Topic: Pokemon question

I have Pokemon Y but only currently have a badge since i have not had much time to play. But the new Pokemon sapphire and ruby are out and i want to be part of the online aspect of the new pokemon since those are the more fresh and up to date versions and thats where most of the players will be online rather than Pokemon X and Y

I was considering trading in Pokemon Y and getting Pokemon sapphire or ruby so i can participate in multiplayer while its still HOT. I just on Pokemon Y and could not even do a world trade, before i could do world trade every second.

Just looking for some opinions, i would beat Y and then buy the new Pokemon but i want to keep up with everyone

World trade? I'm not following.. ORAS and X/Y have the exact same online features and PSS system.

ORAS does outdo x/y but I'd hold on to your y for a little while first to make sure you don't need anything from there to transfer to or/as.

^ I think Nez means Wonder Trade. And I went on recently and notice that there was less Wonder Trading.

I think you should beat the game before upgrading. A lot of people will probably get ORAS for Christmas, so the online should stay active for a fair amount of time. I beat XY when it was new and even months later, online battling and WT were still pretty active.

But is the pvp community going to be active on pokemon x and y compared to ruby omega? I want to be part of an active online community.. I never really got into pokemon pvp only story because i havent played pokemon since old ruby and sapphire..since then things have changed a lot lol great time to return to the series. So i skipped everything in between ruby and Pokemon Y went ahead and picked up pokemon Y a few weeks back i just havent got far yet.

I dont want to miss out on the new pokemons online community current hot buzz if u get what i mean and so im debating if i should just grab ruby omega.

Also if anything would like to tell me about their pvp experience? Good or bad? Im excited to try it for the first time.

I can't rate well the online experience in Pkmn since it's the feature I use less, but I do know well enough that Ruby and Sapphire are not such a huge upgrade you need to get asap for keep up.
Wonder trade still works between all the 6 gen games for example, it was hard to not notice since immediatly after ORAS came out in america I started to get lots of wurmple and zigzagoon from trainers having treecko, torchic or mudkip as their fav pkmn XD
Also other forms of trading works while I think battle divide a bit more players using X/Y from those with ORAS, but Pokemon is a huge game with tons of players, the multiplayer aspect in X/Y won't get slow or get less "hot" cause of ORAS, ack... I think that X/Y will keep be busy and "hot" until Nintendo will cut down the online features for 3DS (which won't happen any time soon XD).

If you want to complete your adventure in Kalos than keep playing Y, if instead you don't care and can't wait to get on the Hoenn's nostalgia train then skip to Ruby or Sapphire

Both games are pretty active.

ORAS is at a slow start because players are just finishing the game. Everybody is still collecting items, exploring, playing with secret bases, etc etc.. x/y has less people on it but those people still on it have nothing better to do really and are established enough for competitive play. I personally recommend getting OR/AS after completing y for the competitive battling since the majority of players will be on there after the holidays and x/y didn't recieve a patch for any of the new content like megas... but x/y isn't dead either as there are plenty of people still on there and those on oras can still battle/trade with you on x/y as long as they don't have any of the new moves or megas on hand.

So let me get this straight.. when i wonder trade with Pokemon y i am also wonder trading with people who are playing the new Pokemon? also i pvp with players playing other Pokemon games?

The ranking system is seperate though. In oras there are a couple new moves (hyperspace fury, dragon accent, origin pulse, and.. whatever blades) 2 primal evolutions and 18 mega evolutions.. all of these are not compatable with x/y so you cannot battle players using those said pokemon. Battle spot doesn't connect with oras and any passerby/friend battles will only go through if the person on oras didn't bring any of said moves or new megas.
