I particularly remember that rock that hides Din's Fire.

As a kid, that random rock there with a sign in front of it mystified me, it was really out of place... Then shortly after, I got the bombs and they destroyed those exact rocks... I just had to go back and see what was that about.

I probably took longer to figure out that there was a great fairy in death mountain that hints about the great fairy in Hyrule Castle.

I had this as a kid too, but I can't really remember where I played it. I don't think I had a TV in my room, but I'm not sure it was hooked up to the main TV downstairs.

When I got to Jabu Jabu's dungeon, I remembered destroying the tentacles with the boomerang. It's funny what you remember.

I was a little disappointed I didn't get to keep the boomerang once I became adult Link.

well I also remembered seeing the beginning of the Forest Temple the first time, and that was like 18 years ago? But I'm kind of stuck in the temple trying to find the bow, which I know I need for this dungeon.

Visions are a nice addition to the game, but it's kind of annoying that you have to die to view them.

Also, since start and select both go to the pause/save menu, they should have made select go to items menu like other Zeldas do.

I played this on N64 as a young'un. I remember getting between the guards on the way to the Hyrule Castle interior to be very frustrating and also getting lost with the Fire Temple. As an 11 year old, between school and Goldeneye 007, it took me around 5 months to finish the game!
I can basically do the whole game from muscle memory now though. I kind of wish I could go back to playing it for the first time

Yeah, sneaking in between those guards seemed kind of random. I had to use a Sheikah vision and it showed you the way to go...

Otherwise I beat the Fire Temple last night, so I've been making good progress.
