It's been rumored that Majora's Mask could be the next 3DS remake of the Legend of Zelda series. After beating OOT 3DS today I have an urge to play Majora's Mask but I don't own the game. Do you guys think I should wait and see if they release a 3DS remake? or should I just get the n64 version off of ebay?

It's GOTTA be comming in the near future. No way they'd be stupid enough to just skip it like that. I mean seriously, remaking Wind Waker, let alone remaking it BEFORE remaking Majora's Mask? You've got to be kidding me. At first I was against it as I thought it would take away resources from making a new handheld Zelda, or would make them shy away from making new IP's for once. but then I realized that they could just hand it off to Grezzio, so I'm all for it.

There's already been rumours last year of either a Majora's Mask remake or a remake of/sequel to A Link to the Past for the 3DS. However, Nintendo said they'd like to make an original Zelda title for the 3DS before delving into remakes, so seeing a Majora's Mask remake on the 3DS is a little too soon, especially since we are getting a Wind Waker remake next.
Hey on another note, how about you just play the new version of the OOT Master Quest? apparently the 3DS Master Quest is different from the Gamecube WW bonus disc version.

It's not announced as of yet, but if you're really anticipating Majora's Mask, then I suggest buying it in any form you can. Especially considering Nintendo might not ever release a remake.

It bugs me that my friend won't play Majora's Mask because he's waiting for Nintendo to remake it on the 3DS. Ten dollars to buy the game on the VC is not that bad people.

I don't think they hate it @LordJumpMad, it's just they have to have a steady flow of software and they aren't ready to release or make such a game yet. For all we know Grezzo might be working on it, maybe even improving upon the original by adding new features or features that didn't make the cut or maybe completely remaking it, which would take longer. We may see it in the future, but an original Zelda must come first before Nintendo gets it remade on any platform.
Also, seriously? we're getting a Wind Waker remake and you're still complaining? I'm just thanking my lucky stars that I get to finally play WW, having never owned a Gamecube to experience it in its original form, geese!

My advice is that you should get the game now if you want it so much, since there's no official announcement that any Majora's Mask remake is coming in the foreseeable future (or ever, for all we know they might pick Link to the Past like Miyamoto said).

So just buy the original game.
