Topic: Is this New 3DS XL a fake?

Hey everyone,

Recently I finally made the decision to purchase a New Nintendo 3DS XL and came across a secondhand one ( UK region ) on a local buy-and-sell website for what seems like a reasonable asking price.

The asking price is €150, which seems alright to me but let me know if that's not actually as reasonable as I think it is!

Anyway, I'm a bit dubious about purchasing as it seems as though the console may be a fake. What draws my attention most is the box. It doesn't appear like other boxes that come up when I search "UK New 3DS XL Boxes" up on Google. It has translations for the list of features on the front, which online examples don't seem to have.

I'll try to attach a screenshot of the photo here so you guys can have a look.

What do you think?
Is this a fake?
Is the price too good to be true?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

@FireFlower Here's a tip. Only buy used if buying from somewhere like Ebay or Amazon - where you get protection and a refund if the item is not as advertised.

If it's a 'local buy-and-sell' site then don't commit to buying until you've held the thing in your hands and tested it and are happy that it's fully functioning.

But, FWIW, there's nothing fake looking about that box to me. Just make sure it's for the region (e.g. PAL/NTSC) that you want. For the sake of efficiency Nintendo ship a fair amount of goods with multi-lungual packaging nowadays.

Also, I bid on a 'Like New' Monster Hunter Generations 3DS XL the other day on ebay. It sold for £109.

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

@gcunit I agree, this sounds like something you'd see in craigslist too.

No, it is not fake. Depending of the region, the box changes.
Take a look at this japanese new 3DS, the box is the same:https://www.amazon.com/Nintendo-3DS-Metallic-Black-Japanese-Version/dp/B00NAW5DT8

Never heard of a fake 3DS before. Games sure, but the console itself? They don't exist.

The big age rating logo in the corner is USK rating so may be a German PAL 3DS?
