I dunno if it's different between regions, but here we get constant reminders that FC sharing is against the CoC all the time, regardless of ages. So maybe it's because people could see that message and think they're not breaking the rules when they actually are?
always thought I'd change to Gyarados after I turned 20 but hey, this is more fitting I guess. (also somebody registered under the original Magikarp name and I can't get back to it anymore orz)
No FC's on 3DS MiiVerse allowed at all. Even talking about them is bad as they just don't want people even trying it. It's kinda dumb considering it' is a component of their own network but those are their terms.
I'm fully aware you can't share friend codes on the miiverse. But in their Code of Conduct, it only states that players that are 12 & under are forbidden to share FC's. I read it again after they sent me the message. And if it was because I was implying that you can get around it on the miiverse, then wouldn't that be the post that needed to be deleted instead of the one about the Code of Conduct?
This guy had made a post about how he was finally unbanned & a bunch of other people were commenting, saying the same thing. Some were saying they didn't understand why they were banned & deleted posts for sharing FC's. I can show a picture of the full conversation if I need to.

Well, they did post a miiverse announcement on 12/13/2013 stating that you can't exchange FCs...period. I know people may complain, and be angry, and disagree but if something is in writing you can't do anything about it except follow the rules or choose not to participate. A lot of people assume since they didn't read all the fine print that doesn't make them liable...trust me it does, whether you read it or not. If you want to blame anyone, blame the creepers that abused swap note and ruined it for all of us.

I read over the Code of Conduct they sent me in the message & the only thing I saw about FC's was the 12 & under section. :^ I wasn't even trying to share my FC. And honestly, in my opinion, I feel like Nintendo is being too strict on some of these rules. Don't get me wrong, I love Nintendo and I'm rooting for them to succeed. The death of swap note hasn't stopped the creepers on the miiverse. Just the other day, I saw someone post a picture in the Mario & Luigi Dream Team community of a NSFW photo of Starlow & Luigi screenshot with the caption "Starlow?! What are you doing?!" I'll admit to laughing at it. As far as I know, it's still up.
The thing with online communities is that they often rely on users to report misuse. Someone likely reported you. Then a mod took a look at it, went "yup, that's a no-no," and removed the post. It could also be that entering your FC automatically flags your post for a mod to look at.
If an offending picture is still up on Miiverse, it's not because of some unfairness or flaw in the system. It's because nobody bothered to report it.

yeah they've announced the prohibition in the first day of the 3DS Miiverse and forgot to update the code of condusct afterwards(they did announce it wasn't allowed but I'm not sure if they simply "forgot" updating or thought it wasn't needed)
and about Nintendo being strict:
when something bad happens to kids that play PS/Xbox/PC: "oh it's normal, let's not worry too much kids shouldn't be playing videogames online anyway"
when something bad happens to kids that play Nintendo: "this is unacceptable, Videogames should be a safe playing alternative for kids so they don't go out to destroy their lives with wrong things, NINTENDO MUST BE RESPONSIBLE FOR IT!!!!!!!!"
it's quite the unfair situation so Nintendo must take care(believe me I saw it happening more than once)

i dont get why people still try to exchange fFCs over miiverse when there are a bazillion forums in the interwebs like this where you can do it.
If you notice on the miiverse, a lot of those people are kids 15 and younger who either didn't read the rules (most likely) or read them and don't care. You'd be amazed how many people break that rule and also break the "don't give out personal info" rule. A lot of the miis have their creator's first name. If you go to their profiles, it's written "Hi I'm so and so. I'm x years old and I live in city, state, country. Please yeah and follow me and I'll yeah and follow back!" I don't think they're smart enough to go to a different website like this one to trade FC.

Sounds like they need to update the Code of Conduct on the 3DS system then. As far as something bad happening to a kid, that's just poor parenting. Plain and simple. My mom isn't video game literate, but she made sure she knew what the ESRB was when I was growing up. I didn't play my first T rated game till I was about 10 (it was Mr. Mosquito), and that was only because I asked dad instead of mom. I wasn't allowed to play M rated games until I was old enough to buy them myself. Even then, my mom was very reluctant about me playing them. I just really hope Nintendo can bring the core gamers back. I'm excited for Watch Dogs, but I hate it's been pushed back later than the other console versions.

Except for I didn't enter my FC. I just stated what was the miiverse Code of Conduct on FC's. I know now that they changed the rule on FC's that applies to everyone & not just 12 & under. I just don't understand why it would be reported though?

it was the same with me(except I also personally wanted to respect the ratings, I was a wierd kid now that I think about it)

My guess is because by saying "since everyone does it anyway" etc, someone interpreted it as encouraging breaking of the rules and implying that the CoC would not be enforced. Weak for sure, but maybe implying lax rules is a touchy subject.
