Topic: 3DS Transfer Problem

Ok so I upgraded my son today from the black 3DS to the new black 3DS XL. Everything went fine with the transfer or so it seems but I seem to have ran into a problem. Two times now when he has been playing the XL a message will pop up saying that an error has occur and that he must power off the 3DS XL. Ok no problem. However when he turns it on after that message another message appears saying that the SD card can not be detected and that the software on it cant be accessed (Which is VC games and all that).

I did the transfer even copied the stuff from the old 3DS SD card to the new 4 gig card that came with the XL so I am stumped here. Any suggestions?

Have you tried reseating the SD card in your 3DS? (Removing and reinserting). A friend of mine had this happen to him after a system transfer, but I never ran into it. He brought his 3DS over to me and I corrected it by reseating it a few times. The only other time I have seen that, I had to do a factory reset on the 3DS (But it was not after a transfer).

I will see if he did anything different. I've done the transfer 5-6 times and never had an issue.

The power-off thing sounds like a problem with the XL model itself. (Unless does it only happen with download games..?).

Yeah, What I ended up doing was wiping the memory card and just coping everything from my PC again to the SD card. I am not sure if that did the trick or just taking it out and putting it back in did but in the end the problem was solved and my son has not had any more problems since then.
