I'd personally wait on deciding anything until after the e3 conference. They already took back the Wii U basic set, so a new 3DS deal may be on the way. If say, they announce a limited edition with a game you'd like, it may be worth it to get it new.

become a member on club nintendo and register your 3ds and then you get an extended 90 day warrenty hope this helps if its not too late. hope you get your 3ds fixed
