Re: Harvestella To Get Improvements Based On Switch Demo Player Feedback

I don't feel like I got very far in the demo at all, because I kept getting interrupted by cutscenes and needing to take screenshots of the characters' ridiculous outfits to show them to my friends so we could all laugh. Seriously, one guy has suspenders that attach his boots to his belt! I can't take the game seriously when every character has a more impractical outfit than the last. Was really having trouble caring about the story, too, since its primary function seemed to be getting in the way of seeing what the gameplay is like.

"Exploring the haunted houses all alone, perhaps the series points towards a big canonical bust-up between the plumber brothers that we are yet to see."

I haven't played the first two games, but Mario comes to the haunted mansion with his brother (and Peach, and several toads) in Luigi's Mansion 3 so they're not only friendly enough to go on vacation together by that point, but once you rescue Mario near the end, they even work together for a bit. It did seem like Luigi was a bit frustrated by his brother showing off his acrobatic ability, but they got along fine.

@JasmineDragon I'm totally with you on the NPC sexuality front. It's not that everyone's bi in these games, it's that you pick the romantic interest whose personality you like the best, and in your own personal playthrough, that person just happens to be the orientation that you need them to be. In someone else's playthrough they might have a different orientation, but that's a different reality. Reality changes based on what the player wants. Giving everyone a set orientation is definitely more realistic in that you can't just romance whoever you want because they might not be interested in you, but in most games, giving this much agency to the NPCs takes it away from the player. You're suddenly limited to a much smaller number of potential partners, and unless there is a HUGE number of such people, there aren't going to be enough different personalities to appeal to everyone.

Re: Poll: Do You Play Your Switch More In Docked Or Handheld Mode?

When I play my switch, it's 99% of the time in docked mode, especially since that time is almost entirely co-op with my 4-year-old. However, she can't figure out how to turn on the TV and set it to the correct input yet, so she plays almost exclusively handheld when she plays games on her own.
