@nhSnork Borderlands 2 and 3 are old games and playing it on Switch is nightmare compared to other platforms. Thats why its getting discounted on eShop all the time, because no sane person will buy it unless its -90% off.

@sanderev Game studios have managers and creative directors, they are the only ones able to make choices here, either make games narrow in scope, cut things and release it at normal price or create expensive games for premium price.

It is not a consumers fault that studios have terrible managers, yet instead focusing layoffs on throwing out bad ioncopetent managers they keep getting rid off low level developers.

Thats why people are so angry at Nintendo. There is so much cancer in this industry currently, people hoped that at least Nintendo is a beacon of hope but NOPE, Nintendo is just as bad as others big players.

@tektite_captain GTA VI is one of these "once in a life time" experiences, they actually push industry forward with this game, even hair on arm is new tech there. Not even talking about expensive world, expensive story, money they had to spend on voice acting etc etc. It is a premium game. Mario Kart is not.

@SalvorHardin I dont know the full story but apparently Metroid Remastered devs begged Nintendo for this lower price, devs themselves didnt want to look like overcharging *****.

Also inflation doesnt mean much when economy of scale work wonders. Years ago when game sold 1 mln copies in first year it was a top hit. Nowadays gamersbase is so huge a passable game can sell 1 mln copies in first weekend.

@HalBailman You are right, but in this case what we are talking about is unnatural deformations, which is a common thing in bad quality image generation LLM AI. Not the type of AI that helps you make your art better, but the type that creates "Art" from nothing.

Either they have weird artists now or they already are using worst type of AI, in a premium "flagship" product.
