@Ashunera84 Have you tried Triangle Strategy? IMO that’s maybe the most political medieval fantasy game this generation (on switch anyways). I love the “choose-your-own-adventure” progression and world building too.
Disappointed the review didn't go into exactly what gets carried over between games.
The motion controls aren't perfect, but the point isn't getting a high score, but just going through the motions. I know you actually lose weight if you stick w/ it. Some moves do detect like garbage (stepping) and I'll be turning those off immediately.
As for the music, the nice thing about switch is I can prop it up next to my tv and get my exercise while I watch.
All that said, I was a fan of the first game, but I think I'll wait for a sale on this one.
Dang. This game was great for helping me unwind. Can't stress how much I was looking forward to the sequel. (Also 2064: Neurodiver, but that's no longer coming to switch at launch)
I've still got at least one playthrough to see everything, plus there's the school-life spinoff (the sequel of which was also indefinitely delayed) and as others have said, other games have begun mimicking the style and gameplay
I'm playing it for the first time. I knew about all the tedious-ness coming in. The review didn't mention that sometimes the combat feels broken and unfair though. Mostly it's fine but the 3rd boss gave me a ton of trouble, and I had no idea if I was missing something or the game was just bad in that moment.
Streets of Rage always felt like the perfect candidate to get a movie adaptation to me. Like it could have been the perfect cross between Die Hard and the Warriors. Too bad nobody else ever saw that potential.
I think nintendo is confused. I don't think most people call them childish today because they still make games about plumbers eating mushrooms. They're childish because their hardware lacks basic features and trust the other major platforms all enjoy. Its like instead of smartphones, we have something stripped down that can only call 10 preprogrammed phone numbers for children and old people who can't handle any more responsibility than that.
It's fine, maybe even preferable to focus on NSO, but they have to actually do it. SNES felt like it arrived a year after it should have, and while it gave is 90% of the 1st party must play games on the snes, it's still all games we've played to death before.
Not everything has to be a surprise announcement Nintendo. It's okay to reassure your customers that more games are coming, or a similar game dump is happening soon with Gameboy or N64.
Asking your fans to trust you that it's being worked on while providing zero details got old a long time ago.
I think it looks a little bit too much like the GBA game, great as it is, for a remake. Like it's not ambitious enough. Will you be able to change the camera angle? Or customize your avatar? I've enjoyed what I've played of the original, but side by side I'll take either of the 3DS story of seasons games.
3 cheers for capcom for not skimping out on achievments for the wii release. and another three for adding downloadable content when other companies wouldn't (rock band). and another three for the idea of making a new nes game to begin with. as a single console owner, i'm very happy right now. It almost makes up for discontinuing megaman powered up/maverick hunter/legends.
I always dreamed big companies would start putting out retro games on wiiware, but I never thought it would happen. It'd be cool if we got Sonic 4 or a new NES/SNES SMB platformer eventually. Also, will there be 8-bit Bass?
