When I looked at the review, I was SHOCKED to see a 2021 review that implied the game had NO REVIEW from 2020 and earlier!!!
But, they messed up their reviews pages.
If a game already has a review and it gets ported to Virtual Console, online, or a new Switch release, it is supposed to get its own separate page.
Foe example, New Super Mario Brothers DS has a DS review and a Wii U Virtual Console review.
For some reason, for Super Mario 64, they just deleted the original Nintendo 64 review and the Wii U Virtual Console review and replaced both pages with one Switch Online review.
@Shinnok: The DS is considered a Nintendo 64 portable graphically, but since the DS is limited to two 3 inch screens and has no DS player option on Wii, the Nintendo 64's ability to use a full screen television gives it a huge advantage over its DS counterparts, even though the DS was produced eight years later.

Re: Review: Super Mario 64 (N64) - The Best Launch Game Ever Made
@Tisteg80: I have no idea why they did not produce a 2D Mario game in 1999 or something.
Once Super Mario 64 sold well, there was no reason the 2D Mario games had to wait until 2006 for a new release.

@MetalMario: If you want an extra challenge, try collecting all the coins in each course.
I was shocked at how difficult this challenge is to do.
I still have about 5/24 courses without all the coins collected.
Almost every course has 2-4 clusters of coins that are super hard to get.

@blackknight77: When I went back to replay the game as an adult, I did find the camera to be super frustrating at first.
But, I figured out that using Lakitu zoomed out works best.
If the camera gets stuck, just turn Mario around and the camera usually fixes itself, though it is annoying that it makes the game not flow well.
For the coins, you only have to collect 100 coins for 15/120 star and you can get all courses unlocked without completing a single 100 coins star.
