@Gameday cut the cable and put a USB plug on the end. I've had my USB gamepad charger for ages now. You need some sort of y cable extension when using the Wiiu USB sockets though as they don't supply enough power for the game pad through one. Alternatively use one of those USB mains adaptors for phone chargers.
On topic, seems like a good time to go back to splatoon. Every time I've been on recently its been a splatfest and I've kind of had enough of those already. I'd prefer splatfest to mix it up with some ranked battles instead of turf war all the time.
Wouldn't surprise me if we can play mobile apps on that handset. This looks like a casual version of my dreams for NX. The box connects to the net and holds all your apps (games for NX). You can view content on the projector (TV for NX with a controller) and download the apps held on the hub to play on a handset (NX Jr).
One idea but split into 2 different products with different content for different markets.
Someone mentioned 'Slippy's Dodge Ball' and it got me thinking, should this be a Starfox spinoff instead? There could be Starfox characters in the suits and I think this would be much more interesting.
I'm struggling with this too if you hadn't guessed. Especially after some lame EA lookalike game gets announced during the Nintendo Championships then my fears are realised! It's not is it? Oh man, it actually IS the next metroid game. It's not a good way to start.
I'm hoping there is some cool amiibo support in this to be announced. I think that's where they are going with this. The Starfox brand would still suit it better IMO though, is it just me?
