They can put whatever they want in their game, but they could at least try to be honest about why it's there. Notice it's very heavily skewed toward one gender - we have games with "armor" for women that covers perhaps 10% of their body while their male co-stars have only their face visible, if that. Include it or don't include it, but don't lie.
We don't need a pretentious blog to tell us it has poor enough performance that can be a distraction from enjoying the game. When it snaps into a decent frame rate for a few seconds and feels wonderful, then suddenly gets choppy again, that's a bad experience.
AI is only 'coming for you' if it can do your job better than you can. Voice acting in video games is almost always bad - if AI can improve it I'm all for it. Same for any other field. The tool is being used by a professional who has to know what it is they want to get out of it, like any other creative process. Open your minds, and hone your skills if you're so afraid.
