Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (10th August)

post-sabbatical

I tend to have a main game that I'm playing most days, alongside a 2D platformer/metroidvania and a single-player shooter that I use as a palate cleanser, and games I can dip into for 10/20mins if I have some time to kill.

Main Game: Ys VIII - been playing for about a week. Its the type of game I'd usually love, and I am enjoying the story so far (chapter 3) but somehow the game is not super catching me. Maybe I'm finding the combat a little too repetitive. Definitely sticking with it though.

2D: The Messenger - I'm playing this primarily as a set up for playing Sea of Stars someday. I really enjoyed the first half, tough but fun, and generous with save points for quick replays of tricky parts. The metroidvania-ish second half has felt a little needlessly obtuse, but its been generally fun. I should finish it this weekend.

Shooter: XIII - only just started it, so no proper opinions for far. seems nice and simple on first impressions, should be fine as a low commitment dip in game.

Happy gaming everyone!
