I love the Wii U. The library has been great and the Wii U has historically gotten a lot more playtime than the PS4 in my house. Until recently because the PS4 library is getting really good at the same time the Wii U library is on life support.
Hats of to Nintendo for making sure those of us who bought this little machine had some great games. But anyone who thinks this thing has any legs, or that Star Fox or XCX will save it this holiday is kidding themselves. Nintendo hasn't dropped the price because they don't want to invest in increasing production capacity for a machine that has an end of life planned. It was no accident they announced the NX when they did--and that was for shareholders, not gamers, benefit.
Thanks for the memories, Nintendo. I'll file them away with the under appreciated GameCube library and hope for backwards compatibility on the NX. It's not like most of the great games needed the game pad, so why not?
These 3DS deals are killing me. I was planning to wait for the New 3DS, but $50 is not chump change, so it will probably help Nintendo accomplish their goal of clearing out stock.
