Re: UK Survey Shows Enthusiasm for Nintendo Switch and Its Concept, But Pricing is a Factor

I dont have a problem with a new console priced at £280. In time it will be £250 with a game. The main issue for me (along with possible joycon and dock faults) is the price of pro controllers and joycons. I could go out and buy a switch tomorrow but i refuse to buy into the system with accessories priced so high.

On a side note I have never had any issues with glass screens but I have had a phone with a cheap plastic screen that failed.

As soon as Nintendo announced the switch dock my 1st concern was whether it had pads to protect the screen. A plastic touch screen is a bad design, and combined with the dock its an epic fail.

There is no way im paying 280 quid for a product and then I have to fix it with tape! No mug here.
I will consider buying a switch when the dock and joycon issues are fixed, and the pro controller is £50.

Have a look in game stores. You could easily walk around the store and miss the switch poster altogether.

The way to start momentum of the switch is to have demo pods in shopping malls. Its not until you actually have a switch in your hands and experience the games that you realise just how much fun it really is.

To keep owners happy they need a steady stream of NEW games and to ditch the need to use a smart phone to match make - whoever came up with that idea needs to resign!

I wouldnt look too far into high demand for the initial stock as there are plenty of peeps buying multiple machines to resell on ebay etc.
I went to the manchester switch event and apart from only getting 5 mins on zelda,( intro was best part of 5 mins, I found a stick and climbed a rock) everything else was just quality, machine, joycons, games all had the ninty touch. Scary moment when my partner dropped a joycon, thank god it didnt break or I might have had to take out a bank loan to pay for it!
Unfortunately the uk marketing is poor as usual - went into a game store and the tiny switch poster was hidden behind games. No demo pod and the staff still had very little details from nintendo about the switch. The staff said it was typical nintendo, they havnt learnt a thing.
If Nintendo uk want to attract the masses they need demo pods in shopping malls before release. That is the best way to start momentum and spread word on just how much fun the machine is.

I havnt got a degree in marketing but Im sure I could do a far better job than nintendo uk!
