@The_Trooper49 @Diogmites I hear you on Futari - I just hope we stop seeing Switch versions release without leaderboards since other Switch ports show they are possible. Was playing Futari for hours on 360 earlier today and really missed the online leaderboards when I went to play Mushihimesama on Switch. So now I’m looking to repurchase a version with leaderboards (either Steam or 360) and regret getting the only recent version without them.
@JohnnyMind It’s a pretty good port with a nice amount of content - I’d suggest picking up. The only unfortunate thing is that unlike the port it is based on originally (Xbox 360) and the earlier release of this port on Steam (still available at the moment) it doesn’t have any online leaderboards.
A real missed opportunity since many other Switch shmups, even ports of much older ones (like some of the console Darius ones) have online leaderboards. If they’d added those, I’d have been playing the game much more often, much like I do with the sequel on 360.
@Jop There’s a minority of people that really like them, though. I bought a used 3DS and Wii U long after the Switch came out. I bought a Wii U instead of a PS4, eventually got a PS4 Pro and only bought a Switch and Series X last year.
Almost all of my 3DS and Wii purchases were eShop games (as well as many Wii shop titles). I think bought more games for my Wii U than I did for my SNES back in the 90s and the same for my 3DS versus my original Game Boy.
But I’m used to loving a less popular console. I still don’t regret getting a 3DO at launch.
@Mgalens This is exactly why the Wii, Wii U and 3DS virtual console (and the PS3 PSN catalog of PS1, PS2 and in Japan PC Engine) games have been frequent purchases for me in the last year - but I have yet to purchase an NSO subscription.
For anyone with a US eShop account, Fire Emblem Fates: Birthright is still available for purchase on the 3DS until the shop closes. I purchased it within the last week.

@farrgazer Good to hear it’s not being abandoned. It would be especially nice if they added the online leaderboards from the Steam version.

@GVIL I don’t know - I was wondering the same thing. Is it midnight in the shop’s local timezone or something else?
