Re: Plants Vs Zombies: Battle For Neighborville: Complete Edition Arrives On Switch Next Month

To add to what @anoyonmus said about Frostbite game engine, this is the first time the Frostbite game engine will be included in a Switch game. Frostbite is developed by DICE and is used for many EA games. The fact that they finally added Switch support for Frostbite is HUGE in terms of what can now be released.

If that still isn't clear, PvZ has been developed with Frostbite and the game engine didn't support Switch previously so of course EA/PopCap probably picked a title to pilot release that would yield a positive return on investment for the effort of adding support for a new platform. Given the latest sales figures on consoles, Switch is doing exceedingly well and this is really the right time to shift revenue sources while PS and XBOX are in transition.

If you look at the Wiki for Frostbite, it opens the playing field for games like Battlefield V and Star Wars: Battlefront 2 on Switch (and I guess niche games like Madden 21 if sportsball is your sorta thing). I would almost go as far as predict these releases.
