Besides everything you mentioned there is the paid online subscription now that adds even more cost. I was very excited for the reveal, but the huge expense has actually driven me to pick up a PS4 bundle with a few cheap, but excellent games (~$300 total). I'll get Zelda for my Wii U and hope for a bundle or price cut sometime next year.
It's a shame that gamers are put off by a challenging game nowadays. MMSC was fantastic and provided some solid content to 100% it. I really wish more series would follow up with a challenge mode or something like that. I felt like it was truly for the fans, which is why it's so disappointing that it didn't sell well.
@ProfessorToad No, your comment about something popular justifying a higher price. More popular means more demand means higher price (Nintendo is sure pushing it though). Rayman is less popular, therefore it has a lower premium.
@CharlieSmile Why aren't you buying this game exactly? I recognize your right to think whatever you want and purchase whatever you want, but would you mind explaining your reasoning for someone who just doesn't "get it"?

Re: Review: Super Mario Run (Mobile)
@ProfessorToad I agree with you that the game is overpriced, but c'mon now--are you familiar with supply and demand?

Re: E3 2016: Catch Up With All of the Nintendo Action from Day One at E3
I thought the focus on Zelda was superb. Extremely happy with E3 so far--it's already significantly better than last year's.
