Haters of this decision, you're allowed to like and dislike whichever games you please, but please take around 10 minutes (or even less) to either watch, or skim through, this video and maybe reflect on Sakurai/Nintendo/Microsoft's monumental decision here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wc4VUw6W7Kc
@JereJK Well said. Definitely a better choice than Byleth, overall, considering the overall impact Minecraft has had on indie games and pop culture in general. Byleth came from a great game, in a fantastic franchise (that I haven't yet gotten the chance to try), but literally 99% of those who people say they'd "rather have" in the game instead of Steve are either more obscure, less impactful, or still icons in their own right but can't beat the king. Like, Ryu Hayabusa is cool, but most of those playing Smash haven't heard of him (still hope he gets in, personally, though!). Crash Bandicoot I see as an exception to this, but obviously compared to Minecraft even he hasn't had the same exposure. Smash is a CELEBRATION OF GAMING, and this is the one pick in the roster that I think demonstrates that point really well! Those who are hating are just biased against the game without trying it or fail to see just how legendary of a moment this is for Smash as a video-game museum of sorts.
@KnightsTemplar ...and you've never actually tried the game or have any connection to it, whatsoever So... from a cynic that's an understandable perspective, I suppose.
@JJtheTexan we clearly need more people like you in here. This reveal was (and I know unpopular on this sites cuz y'all have never bothered to try to enjoy one of the best games of all time) literally MY FAVORITE character in the entire game!! Other than any ARMS rep in the form of Min-Min, this was the only time a new character was added to Ultimate that I was actually asking for. Great that my #1 pick got in! Now time for Waluigi...
