Re: Naughty Game Starring Princess Peach Hit With Nintendo Copyright Complaint

ZebZed

@KingBowser The main issue was that he was making money off of the IP, if he kept making the game without using Patreon then he'd more than likely be scot-free.

Oh, and to the people being puritanical nutcases about porn featuring characters from cartoons/video games/comics/anime/manga/etc.: Remember that Tijuana Bibles have been a thing since the 60's, this isn't a new trend in the SLIGHTEST.

Re: Naughty Game Starring Princess Peach Hit With Nintendo Copyright Complaint

I can't really say I'm that surprised by this, Nintendo also sent several artists DMCA takedown notices to artists drawing Pokémon porn (oddly enough it only affect furry artists drawing porn of the monsters themselves rather than the series outright) last year and that was met with similar shock and they've sent DMCA takedown requests to Patreon for other Nintendo IPs being used in porn in the past.

With all of that nonsense in addition to Patreon suspending artists for other things I can't say I'm surprised with people fleeing it for other services like Pixiv Fanbox, SubscribeStar, and Gumroad.

Re: Random: Nintendo's Latest Switch Update Blocked Some Inappropriate Nicknames

ZebZed

Apparently a certain current event-related acronym is also banned from being used in nicknames as well as anything COVID-19 related and now some people aren’t as happy about the ban because that.

That said, I’m not that surprised by Nintendo banning these from being nicknames. Nintendo will always keep children in mind when it comes to censorship unless the games are meant for a different audience.

Re: Poll: How Do You Feel About 'Limited-Time' Games From Nintendo?

ZebZed

Eh... Nintendo’s been doing this for a fair amount of their anniversary collections, I vaguely remember that Kirby’s Dream Collection (released on Kirby’s 20th anniversary) and the Wii rerelease of Super Mario All-Stars (released on Mario’s 25th anniversary) were released in limited numbers as well.

That said, I do feel that people are somewhat justified with their derision and distaste for this due to the NES Classic’s and SNES Classic’s scarcity and subsequent scalping being fairly recent memories. Combine that with scalping becoming more and more mainstream and companies not doing enough to curb it and it’s creating a serious PR issue that Nintendo seems to either just not get or understands but refuses to address.

Again, barring physically protesting at NoA’s HQ (because were still in pandemic mode) people should be taking this to social media sites like Twitter (get an “anti-limited release” hashtag trending along with Super Mario 3D All-Stars’) and Reddit if they want any sort of change.

Re: Online Retailer Cancels Orders For Super Mario 3D All-Stars Due To "Woefully Short" Supply

ZebZed

I just double-checked my order on Best Buy to see if it’s still valid and it hasn’t been canceled yet so there’s a chance it might just be a UK issue.

@PcTV Agreed, employees getting first dibs on new products coming in shouldn’t be a thin and it also affects some collectable markets, I know Funko (BOO! HISS!) has the same issue when it comes to certain big box retailers. Unfortunately, this issue won’t change unless people throw a REALLY big stink about it on social media sites like Twitter and Reddit.

@carlos82 Seconding that sentiment on smaller stores getting less stock than large chains. When Hidden Fates, a Pokémon TCG set that’s exclusive to value products like boxes and tins, was announced my local LGS was only allowed to order 1-2 cases of product.

Re: There Are Currently No Plans To Bring More Kingdom Hearts Games To Switch

ZebZed

Hmm... whenever I see issues involving the KH series I also wonder how much of a hand Disney has in making them happen. Square Enix SAYS that it’s technologically difficult but then you also have to consider the possibility of Disney not feeling up to the task of giving them the A-OK to do so.

@BrintaPap Ironically enough the idea of a Theatrhythm Kingdom Hearts has been one that some fans have been wanting to see for long time quick search engine run scanning for the phrase “Theatrhythm Kingdom Hearts” yields results from as far back as 2014.

Re: Indivisible And Skullgirls Studio Lab Zero Lays Off Remaining Workforce

ZebZed

@nessisonett And this is where things get ironic, the “toxic” communities that I mentioned and Mike Z sided with are the same puritanical dolts who demanded that they be removed.

@shaneoh Seconding this, my workplace is pretty much the same thing. The only time we really clean ourselves up is when we have customers or if we’re dealing with suppliers.

Re: Indivisible And Skullgirls Studio Lab Zero Lays Off Remaining Workforce

ZebZed

Eh, on the one hand it’s disappointing to see this happen to the people NOT known as Mike Z who worked on both Skullgirls and Indivisible and I hope that they find work elsewhere...

On the other I find Mike’s fate to be somewhat ironic after LZG’s committee fired Alex Ahad for possibly-nonsense reasons (especially when you take the settlement and how much Alex got from it into consideration) and Mike started to seek out people in more “toxic” communities.

Re: The Next Pokémon Trading Card Expansion, Vivid Voltage, Has Been Revealed

ZebZed

Eh... As others have pointed out this set’s been known for a while (Late July by my count) if you follow Pokémon TCG news on other places and the set’s cards have been known since Late May (Japan is getting these cards next month).

@SmileMan64 VMAXs fit on a single card just like LV. X and Mega Evolution cards did in the past, the only time more than one card was used for a single Pokemon were Pokemon LEGEND cards from HGSS sets.
