Re: Azure Reflections - Bullet Heaven Or Hell?

Xenoguner

@EmirParkreiner @Heavyarms55 He also didn't really touch on the games actual length and replayability. Obviously bullet hell games are short, even the greats like the games he mentiones. (None of them definitely last more than 2 hours, so saying this game takes that long is a giant WTF).

But the goal of this game isn't just completing it. It encourages the player to beat the game in only one continue, because if you use one, you can't access the games last 2 levels. Something that newcomers won't know off the bat and will dismiss the game as "too short" with the levels given to you.

You also unlock an extra stage, which while only one stage, it tests your skills the its limits when your only trying to use one continue. Beating it is no problem, but can you do it the way the genre is intended with only one continue? That's the real challenge.

He also fails to mention unlockable difficulties, which further adds to the replayability and skill testing for seasoned bullet hell gamers. And believe me, Lunatic is tough even when you try to use continues.

Overall, this game has alot more value than what this reviewer leads on with. Scoring is the basic premise of all shmups and bullet hells, not just completing it. Come in with that mindset, and you'll most likely enjoy the game alot more. Personally I'd say this game deserves at least a 7, or 8.

And I'm not even a big Touhou fan.

Edit I just realized @masterLEON said almost the same thing, so that's at least 2 people that realize the genres potential more than the reviewer.

Re: Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Confirmed For Nintendo Switch

Xenoguner

@Heavyarms55 @JaxonH There's also a few games that share the same universe and story. Symphonia takes place about a thousand or so years before Phantasia; Destiny and Destiny 2 (Japan only) are connected; and more recent games, Beseria takes place before Zesteria. All these games can be played stand alone, but definately can get that feeling of "whoa!" when u make connections. All are fun, and should be given a try sometime!

Re: Rumour: Hastily Updated Amazon Listing Suggests Fallout 76 Will Arrive On 31st July

Xenoguner

@Jack_Goetz Oh man, if that's the intention of the rest of the writers here, this site would really have gone to crap x.x And I would also assume that's the reason why none of the other editors seem to have said anything about his writing styles (or lack there of).

It would be a safe bet we're gonna see a lot more of these types of articles once E3 rolls next week. Gotta brace ourselves for disappointment T.T

Re: Rumour: Hastily Updated Amazon Listing Suggests Fallout 76 Will Arrive On 31st July

Xenoguner

@JaxonH The sad part is that this author knows what dumb intentions he's doing. Because he almost never writes a good article (news worthy, grammatically, or opinionated), he continually tries to find news where Nintendo is not involved. I believe this isn't even close to the first time he's done this.

Crap quantity over crap quality, and NL still won't do anything about him.

Re: Kirby Star Allies Gobbles Up The Top Spot Again In The Japanese Charts

Xenoguner

@LemonSlice Oh absolutely, and its really disheartening that it happens at all. I'm just really glad I'm not the only one that sees whats going on.

I do hope one day NL will find quality writers again like Mr. Thomas of old. Until then, we just gotta weather this [removed] storm that is the amateur hour of articles =(

Re: Kirby Star Allies Gobbles Up The Top Spot Again In The Japanese Charts

Xenoguner

@Spoony_Tech Yah, its a shame. I dont know if you noticed, but there have been a couple or so weeks where the charts arent posted here, which when you look at them closely, they are the weeks where Sony did better than Nintendo. Specifically during the MHW boom. You can see which weeks are missing if you look up the charts tag.

So not only spinning the news, but cherry picking on a catagory that SHOULD be informed everyweek regardless of the outcome. Pretty shady, if u ask me =(

Re: Nintendo Software Dominates The Week's Japanese Charts

Xenoguner

@Dom The charts help us understand where the Japanese industry stands as a whole on a weekly basis. Regardless of the outcome, its still news that we need, and like, to hear. Even though we are a Nintendo site, keeping the format that you used where u just talk about nintendo figures, shows to everyone that the site is trying to hide and spin the hard truth, and that makes us look bad. Yah, sony had a killer week (congrats to them!) but knowing ALL the numbers puts things in perspective for us Nintendo fans, and we need to know.

We had that format for years now, theres no need to change this now. Please consider posting everything like we used to. If other sites can do it still, so can we =)

Re: Nintendo Software Dominates The Week's Japanese Charts

Xenoguner

I think its just the new guy trying out his own way to post the news. I dont agree with it, as charts are very helpful, but I wouldn't say NL as a whole is trying to spin the news. Just this guy. Im sure any of the veteran authors wouldve put up the charts.

Blame the author, not the site, I guess?

Re: Poll: Capcom is Finally Bringing Mega Man Back - Are You Excited?

Xenoguner

@redd214 I'm pretty sure the X games are going to be a collection. It wouldn't make sense otherwise. To have every mainline game a collection, but then to suddenly be able to purchase each X game separately? That would be Virtual Console's job haha. Especially weird if I could buy x7 and x8 by themselves XD

As for MM11, I'm pretty excited. Would be awesome if they give it the same production value as MEGAMAN Powered Up. That was a great game hahaha.

Re: Soapbox: No, Star Fox Zero's Controls Are not Bad or Broken

Xenoguner

@LetsGoRetro Did you, just reply to me about a topic I dont care about anymore? Alright, I already moved on from this dated conversation, but since you mentioned me...

I dont care anymore, haha. Heck people under me already forgot I said anything. Get over yourself. I said my view, he said his, and even gave an AWESOME reason why the controls bothered him, and all is well. End of my story.

People sure do like to cling...shrugs

Re: Soapbox: No, Star Fox Zero's Controls Are not Bad or Broken

Xenoguner

@Yorumi See? Not that hard xD If anyone wants wants to dispute your last post, lets busts some chops, haha.

@SetupDisk It was already uninteresting hearing his same comments in every article regarding the game. Your late to the party.

@Clownshoes I like how you assume that all of us talking with @Yorumi are a bunch of Nintendrones that do nothing but praise the company. I can tell you right now that all of us have some beef with Nintendo and arent happy with the way some of their decisions are made and done.

But thats not what this is about. Not about "nostolgia glasses" or that its a nintendo site. This was about someones way of talking about his opinion of starfox. If you want to judge he people here as a whole for being nintendrones "over the years", do it in a relevent article or post. @Yorumi's last post was constructive and made sense, and and Im sure alot of us respect that delivery.

Nostalgia glasses....hah

Re: Soapbox: No, Star Fox Zero's Controls Are not Bad or Broken

Xenoguner

@Yorumi The difference is, you wont shut up. Every starfox article, you say the same thing over and over AND OVER. We get it, numbnuts, you HATE the controls. Many of us would rather you say something else than spout the same thing. Looking too hard into this? Your TRYING too hard to defend yourself.

And like @TheRealThanos said, if someone was shoving positivity down our throats CONSTANTLY like you, you can bet your 2 cents that we would say something about it.

The controls arent easy, yah. If someone wants to tell us otherwise over and over, without owning the game, in the tone that makes them sound like an annoying brat, they would get the same responce from the rest of us: Shut up and wait for the game.

Re: Soapbox: No, Star Fox Zero's Controls Are not Bad or Broken

Xenoguner

@crimsontadpoles Its not so much that its ONLY ok to be positive. Its HOW u express your opinion. We all understand what we, the people who do not have the game, say is "opinion" or "subjective". Its how we present that view, that some of us have a problem with. As the case with @Yorumi, he says his opinion like its fact, and from nearly all starfox related articles, he not only feels the need to repeatedly say his opinion, but he says it in a way like hes jamming down our throats, CONSTANTLY saying it over and over. We dont need to hear his opinion every time, especially when it sounds like he knows better than the people playing the game.

Most of us positive people understand its our view, and we dont try to say it like we're right. People have said here that they will wait to get the game to form an opinion as well, as they cant decide if its good or bad "to them". And thats the bottom line, opinions are ment to be known what one person PERSONALLY thinks, and not try to force the subject every chance they get. Its ok to be negative, just dont be an butt about it. Same goes for being positive. Dont be a butt and claim its gonna be good as fact without even trying it.

Re: Soapbox: No, Star Fox Zero's Controls Are not Bad or Broken

Xenoguner

Haha Its great how certain "people" dont know how to state an opinion on here. If you want to share, you say "to me, blah blah etc". In the case of @Yorumi, he should be saying that "to him", the controls suck. But thats all that really is, the opinion of someone who does NOT have the game in his hands yet talks as if his word is fact.

"To me", when I tried it at E3, the controls took a couple rounds to get used to, but soon after I had little to no problems. "For the author of this article", he says the controls have a learning curve, but is still very much enjoyable. "For most the people that are reviewing the game already", the controls are just fine. As of right now, that seems to be the general opinion of PEOPLE THAT HAVE THE GAME IN THEIR HANDS. If you dont like the controls, congrats, no one really wants to hear your opinion in EVERY article regarding this game. @Yorumi and others, you sound like a broken record. We get you dont like the game. Shut it and get over it. For the rest of us, hearing you ONCE is more than enough. Let the rest of us enjoy the anticipation of this game so we can form OUR OWN opinions about the controls. Geez...
