Other M and Sunshine are both treats, 100%. Samus was finally developed into a tangible character, thick and complex, showing us her fears, her disappointments, and even a person who inspired her (which is always awesome to see, because she's someone who inspires us).
And with Sunshine, what do you do when technology is not ready for the leap to Galaxies, yet? You add a fresh element in. Does it work out completely? Maybe not always. But, regardless, we're on a new island, we're Mario, and, most importantly, on another solid adventure. Mario was on a vacation, and so was our adventure with him. So it's unique in its own little way.
I'm going to buy it, and boo to those that don't. The game has received a graphical redesign. Not a touch-up or better filter like some of the other 3DS ports. I mean, look at that lighting and beauty. I'm going to buy it. Because of the other releases coming out at a similar time, it may be pushed back to a Christmas present. But it will get a purchase from me this holiday season.
And, Curly? This time... I'm fixing my mistake! Wait for me!
Harvest Moon 64 is amazing, and my favorite pure HM. I think "streamlined" is the perfect word for what made it better than the PSX version. It didn't feel awkward, but smooth.
@KomicZ: HM DS is one of the worst Harvest Moons. MANY of the newer ones are better. I think ToTT will be one of the better ones from what I've read up on it. Grand Bazaar is good, too, but it's a lot harder than some of the other HMs.
Anyway, this is a day one purchase for me, even with Mario around the bend. I'm too big of an HM fan not to buy it. And if anyone is on the fence about playing a Harvest Moon game, try it. It's a fantastic, and unique experience, especially if you're a fan of the Animal Crossing games.
If you'd like some more action and adventure with your farming, Rune Factory is amazing, too.
"Well, if you really ARE Samus Aron, who's your girlfriend?" "Why Sarah Windwaker is." "Wow, you've really done your research! Well, okay, then, Samus..."
I have a feeling if the retail console sales succeeds well this holiday season, you're going to see digital titles suddenly take an upturn in early to mid 2012.
No, no. 700,000 units sold world wide between April and June, that is BEFORE the price cut. Since the price cut, they sold 450,000 in the USA alone. So that means they're picking up like crazy, and it's not even the holiday season yet.
NoA is starting to really push irk me. I don't get it. I really don't. What logic is there in not releasing these games here? I feel like it's just to assert dominance over its consumers. Which is insane, of course, because it's Nintendo fans like us that went out and bought the 3DS. It's because of us that we stuck with the original DS, too, when there was so little software for it. Not to mention it was also us that kept the Gamecube from being a tragedy.
But now that Nintendo has its casual fans, it just throws us to the curb.
I loved Metroid Other M. But, with that being said, 2.5D would be best for a handheld, and therefor keep it more like Super Metroid. Also, I think Metroid excels in 2D's exploration assets. I wasn't a huge Prime fan. Maybe I'll go back and give it another shot to see if it can change my mind.
Either way, we need more Metroid. But, hey, after all the whiners complaining about Samus having a personality with flaws and insecurities in Other M, we probably won't see one for a while. American gamers love their flat, cliche characters. Just look at Master Chief and Gordan Freeman.
I'd prefer a 2012 release date for America, anyway. I have Harvest Moon TToT 3D, Mario Kart 7, Cave Story 3D, and Mario 3DS. So it would be bumped way too far back under those games to be gotten until 2012 anyway.
Uwaaaaah! I can't wait! This looks fantastic, and the villagers look a little older. I hated that about Grand Bazaar, some of your marriage options looked like they're eight.
Anyway, knowing Natsume, we won't see this for another two years. But we can hope! =D
This game is amazing. I've owned it for about six months (however long it's been out in the US) and it's one of the best HM games you're going to play. If you're on the fence, get it.
And a new installment to the Mario Land series. What's not to love? And Paper Mario! And Luigi's Mansion plus a BRAND NEW Mario Kart. Oh, and a new Fire Emblem after how many years? Yeah, the Vita has some PS3 ports. Good for it.
Considering that when one of your characters die in Fire Emblem, they're dead for the rest of the game, that's pretty hardcore. The conference was in the Japanese language, in Japan, at a normal Japanese time. Yes, it was broadcast around the world, but there's no doubt the FOCUS was on the western market, or else they wouldn't have stressed Monster Hunter 4. In Japan, the last major Monster Hunter release actually lowered the productivity of the country (albeit only a little) for an entire day. That's insane. That's a BIG announcement, just not to us here in America.
I can't wait for this. And, yeah, DQ9 was a like a pre-cursor for this. But, man, I'm excited they're sticking with Nintendo. This is what we needed: a solid online experience that's UNIQUE to Nintendo.
It should be docked points for no online multiplayer. Nintendo has time and time again stressed how they're going to give it to the core again. How their going to improve online functionality. When I was a kid growing up, me and the neighborhood kids and my brother would gather in my garage to play Star Fox 64 split screen. Well, I'm not a kid anymore. My friends and I don't all live in the same neighborhood, neither do me and my brother. I'm married. So online for me and my brother and old friends is important.
Without online functionality this is just a glossed up port with 3D asking for a full price tag. I'll still buy the game because I love Star Fox, but it makes me more disappointed in Nintendo.
What is Nintendo doing? I've been reading on Nintendolife for a long time, and never posted until I read this. I'm posting now to show that I'm disappointed in Nintendo. I love my 3DS. It's awesome. This peripheral is not. It's too large, too bulky, and any system that starts pushing heavy add-ons sees failure shortly there-after. No system has added large add-ons to a system without failure to my memory. N64 did pull off that memory card you put into the system, but that wasn't a giant bulky addition.

Re: Review: Halloween: Trick or Treat (DSiWare)
That cover art really foreshadows the quality of the game.
Re: We've Plucked the First Footage of New 3DS Harvest Moon
Harvest Moon is one of those games that sounds so boring and dull when you describe it, but one you can't set down once you play.
This will be a purchase for me, more likely than not, as I've bought almost every Harvest Moon games (including Rune Factory) that's come out.
Well, except for Frantic Farming and DS Cute.
Re: Review: Kirby's Return to Dream Land (Wii)
I'm 23, married, work a full time job... And really look forward to playing the new Kirby!
My little half brother, who's 6, plays Call of Duty. How does that feel, IGN? =)

Re: Feature: Nintendo Life Book Club - Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
Oo. The best part will be when Bradley goes,
"Well, if you really ARE Samus Aron, who's your girlfriend?"
"Why Sarah Windwaker is."
"Wow, you've really done your research! Well, okay, then, Samus..."
Re: Feature: Nintendo Life Book Club - Castlevania II: Simon's Quest
I never knew these books existed! But now that I do, I am so happy that I missed out on them as a child.
Next book will probably be:
Samus said, "Bradley, come with me to Metroid!"

Wow. Three golf games, now on the 3DS. Over-saturate much?

Re: Reconfigured Black Wii Heads to North America
NoA won't bring a single Rainfall game, but they'll bring this stupidity posthaste. Unbelievable.

Re: Keiji Inafune's King of Pirates is the Cutest Pirate Game Ever
Over at IGN, some of the comments are ignorantly blaming Keiji for stopping his Mega Man project and starting this instead. I love it.
Strong shout-outs to the creator for going back and giving 3DS owners something to be excited about even after his game was canceled by Capcom.
Re: We Have 74 New Screenshots of Super Mario 3D Land
I can't wait! A true Mario adventure for a handheld... it's been so long!
This looks like a beautiful fusion of Mario 3, Mario 64, and just... new awesome design.

Re: Review: escapeVektor: Chapter 1 (WiiWare)
Are there quite a few stages to play through? Does it work like traditional arcade games where losing puts you back at stage 1 (ala Pac Man)?
Re: Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny
I can't wait for this game! I love Harvest Moon, and Rune Factory has been the best thing to happen to the series since HM and HM64.
