Not really a last word freak (to any large degree), but I just have to clear up this comment: Consequently, I have to believe that you're being a last word freak, or worse yet, trolling.

Yes, you drag this argument from another thread (couldn't just let sleeping dogs lie, could ya), and you have the audacity to call me the troll? Rich, Vendetta, real rich.

Re: Review: WarMen Tactics (WiiWare)

Thomas_Joseph

Yes Vendetta, one person, because you yourself said anyone. ANY ONE. It's really very simple, or do we need to go over what the definition of "one" is? You posed a question, I demonstrated to you that your scenario had already come to fruition before you even made your post.

If you want to quibble over phraseology now ... have at it. NEXT! indeed.

Post #54: I am surely not the only person here tempted to buy it just to see how bad it really is!! I am so so tempted.

Post #56: Come on everyone, show of hands: Is there anyone - ANYONE???? here that read this review and said, "yeah, I gotta have that!" cricket... cricket...

Game. Set. Match.

Vendetta: You're serious TJ?

As serious as a heart attack. That is the adage after all and it is definitely the rule, rather than the exception. Of course, why you trolled this thread, bringing this argument over from another thread is beyond me.

"There's no such thing as bad press..." Now where have I heard that recently? Hmm, nevermind.

Thank you, thank you very much.

And Sean is right ... the more people talk about this game, whether it is a real stinker, or it's the "best game evar" ... the more people may actually consider buying it. It's much better to let it die without so much as a whimper.

Re: Nintendo Power Unwittingly Reveals Wii 2

Thomas_Joseph

There is no such thing as bad press.

This little snafu got Nintendo Power magazine a bunch of exposure for free, and I don't think it will really impact them negatively in the long term. I also doubt it really is going to cost Nintendo any console sales (and I would doubt Nintendo would even notice if it did).

Re: Nintendo Power Unwittingly Reveals Wii 2

Vendetta, you can't patent histrionics. Which means you're out of luck.

Sure, there are a handful of places I expect* perfection, take surgery for instance. I DO NOT expect in in a photo shoot of a video game system however. Is that crazy of me? Hardly. I prefer to call it "practical".

*Not that you get 100% success rates, which is why doctors take out malpractice insurance ... but unless they're doctors of death and kill more patients than they save, even they don't get fired. Individuals are fallible, it's part and parcel of living life. If everyone adhered to your rules, it's likely that no one would be working, including you.

Re: Nintendo Power Unwittingly Reveals Wii 2

Thomas_Joseph

Heh, thanks for the "lesson", but color me unimpressed. I guess when you work in a field that truly has life and death implications, a superscript 2 found in an image really doesn't amount to a hill of beans. If the worst result of this winds up to be (in your scenario) a whole whopping four hundred units unsold, I guess I wind up being even further unimpressed. I mean, say it ain't so! Plus, this talk of "near felonies" blah blah blah ... if it's a crime, that's one thing. But if by "near felony" you really mean "not a felony but let me exaggerate it to make it sound more important than it really is" take it elsewhere because I see no point in twisting knickers over something which turns out to be a non sequitur.

Should they have been more diligent? Sure. Should people get the ax because of this? Heck no, that's patently absurd.

In a magazine with a circulation of more than 400,000, an error like this has real consequences and should cost someone his job.

What "real consequences" would that be? Someone got their hopes up unnecessarily? Oh noes! God forbid!

Honestly, I hope you're being facetious.

Re: Netflix on Wii confirmed

Thomas_Joseph

Question for those who stream Netflix using their XBOX360 or PS3. Do you have problems with it, or does it stream well? I think I may have to move my cable modem to my living room, get the adapter and hook up my Wii directly. Would hate to do that, but may not have a choice.

Re: Netflix on Wii confirmed

Thomas_Joseph

To all the people bitching about it not being a channel. If any of you were up to date on Netflix, they'd know that they currently have an exclusive deal with Microsoft and the XBOX360. The disc-based system is the current workaround to allow people with a PS3 and Wii to use Netflix on their machines. For that, I am grateful, and very excited. When their deal ends with Microsoft, no doubt the PS3 and Wii will get channels so the disc becomes obsolete. In the meantime, this is an awesome development, with only the minor of fussing.

Get up off your darn couches now and again you nattering nabobs.

Re: Sega to Abandon Mature Wii Audience?

Thomas_Joseph

All this complaining about DS:E being a rail shooter. Pshaw ... most of them haven't probably even played the game. DS:E was a great game ... best of 2009 IMNSHO.

@ Metroid Italia: dead space extraction is a good game, but it's not for mature people.. i mean, a mature person doesn't play to a shooter on rail. RE4 is a game for mature videogamer.

Yah but RE: Umbrella Chronicles WAS a rail shooter. Duh. So do only immature fans of RE play UC and not 4?

Re: Review: Rogue Trooper: Quartz Zone Massacre (Wii)

Purchased this title recently and I'm playing through it right now. Alas, the control and camera issues really have tried my patience from time to time. Grenade throwing is a royal pain in the tookus. I think 8/10 is a bit high. I'd lean more towards 6.5 to 7.0 out of 10. It's a good title, and I'm enjoying it, but the controls make it hard to love it completely.

@Hardy83:That's the American spelling, all the normal countries use harbour.

Well, since it's an AMERICAN place, using the AMERICAN spelling is the correct, and proper usage. It's like insisting that someone who has the name Tomas, be called Thomas, just because that's how you'd spell it in your country.
