@8bit-Man I am not a Pokemon fan, but it still shocks me when people don’t realize Pokemon is not a Nintendo first party IP. They own about 1/3 of the IP, but they don’t own a controlling portion. Meaning, this decision is probably mostly on Niantic. I can’t imagine Nintendo wouldn’t want this in their service, as it would help really drive up subscriptions, however, Niantic wouldn’t want this at all, as they make zero $$$ from online subscriptions. They stand to make way more selling the games like this. So no, this isn’t Nintendo, this is Niantics, and I don’t really blame them.
