This looks awesome, and I like that they stressed that they meticulously created the encounters, instead of just tossing some enemies into a procedurally generated blender. If the controls are tight, this could be a great one. Looking forward to it...and I like the blood!
Can't wait until the "Rogue" fad falls out of favor. I can't wait until the next crop of developers thinks, "What if, like, we made the levels our selves? Like, designed it and everything. The games would feel so much more organic."
I hope more comes of this. I still have and play the original AC, and have all the available NES games. Would be awesome to be able to play any NES game I want through AC. Jackal? Contra? Let's do it.
I like this site enough to where I have started commenting here, which I don't often do lightly. It is my hope that despite your closer Nintendo connections, that your reviews stay honest and unbiased. Also, I hope that you continue to focus on text reviews. While the younger generations like to watch Youtube all day, and no doubt enjoy your more focused video presence, I hope this will never come at the expense of your written reviews.
Echoing many comments above, give me Witcher 3! I know the Switch can do it...and Tomb Raider. Got to play through about half of it before the X-Box I was borrowing died. Switch could run that one easy. Also excited about the original stuff. It looked like Retro was going to be Nintendo's new Rare, but their output has been so sparse. If Panic Button feels some creative juices flowing, maybe they could take the throne!
I haven't played through an RPG since Grandia II and Skies of Arcadia on the Dreamcast. I think I just got worn out on the genre...and also came to the conclusion that no RPG is ever going to make me feel the way that Chrono Trigger does. Every now and then, I'll see a game that makes me want to come out of RPG retirement, but so far, nothing has won me over. It's helped that Nintendo systems haven't exactly been an RPG hotbed. The hype preceding this game, and now this review has me thinking this near two decade-long drought is at an end. I think the main factor that has scared me away from modern RPG's is the time commitment. I really don't have 100+ hours to sink into one game, and I don't want to completely neglect other releases. However, the comments in this thread mentioning the very reasonable amount of time it would take to just play through a few of Octopath's characters' stories makes me think this might really be the one. Then, of course, I could always go back and play through another characters' story if I get the itch. Time to finally download that demo.

Re: Nintendo's Bill Trinen Wants To Dispel The Myth That Smash Bros. Became Popular By "Accident"
@liljmoore So happy togetherrrrrr!
That 100% sold me the game. Immediately used my paycheck on it. Glorious summer of 1999.
